Nips and dumps (nothing to do with Japs and supply depots) is a birthday ritual I used to get "treated" to as a boy.  Consisted of being held by your mates / fellow family members by the limbs, lifted into the air and dumped on to the ground, once for each year of your age. Sometimes with an extra "one for luck" (or simply let go!  :o) ). The mob Your chums then gave you nips for each year.  :'(

I didn't think you Sassenachs would know about this but read somewhere its known as "Bumps" if you grew up in Birmingham? Anyone else know of this or were subject to some sort of birthday ritual as a child?*

* or adult ..... now that might get too interesting ....

The fifteen quid one with cardboard stand ups, it fits my voucher exactly ;)

I'd like the proper ones with minis but too pricey for my blood! Although I do have some of the Drow figures from one of them for nefarious bad guy purposes ;)

It's a "D&D-lite" game, thought me be fun for a quick blast between "real games", and good in a few years for my wee one to join in :)

Instead I got winterised jeeps and an M8 Greyhound for my 15mm Yanks!

Did Americans ever do up the straps of their helmets? Or was that an invitation to a broken neck, like the British one?

For what I've read, they thought they might get decapitated in case of explosion. Some generals ordered them to attache their helmets, but ...

Even for many whose native language it is, it is not ;) Or at least not maybe from the mangling of it we make.

Still, we get our point across, eh!

Yeah, it's not actually D&D and has no actual mini's :D

Really annoyingly, after the order I actually made has just been shipped I've noticed that if I'd known the pack codes for FoW I could have had two extra jeeps for nearly the same price by getting a "Cavalry Recon" pack instead of the M8 Greyhound on its own :(

My ACW's arrived today, woo hoo!

Have to say,  I'm very disappointed with the Zouaves; I ordered a pack of 30 but actually received 31.

Just can't trust anyone these days. :D
