Would anyone care to have a look at my campaign rules, not yet even proofread, and let me have useful comments?
Will do ( madlemmey at hotmail dot com)
Yes certainly.

Yes, bung 'em through, FK.
Refresh my memory - your email?
On my profile.
Sent. By the way, an obvious typo: army basic pay is 500, not 5, 000, per season.
Ian, I can't see your comments. :(
Should be in red. Saw and commented on the typo.....

Sorry FK, not sure what happened with my email, will sort it when I get home.
Try ithoriel at blueyonder dot co dot uk meantime.
Thanks for encouraging comments; some have been acted on. I'm avoiding the secrecy about the bogey tables option, however, since I want to take part in this one myself. I enjoyed GM-ing the Sudan campaign, but two months without making any strategic decisions was enough.
Interesting that nobody else noted my odd decision to put a sea-route between Pskov and Stockholm. Now amended to Riga.
Didn't have a map to hand for that, sorry.
Just assumed river or canals?
The answer was more prosaic and humiliating. :-[
Then don't admit to it, just enjoy the moral high ground of knowing you got one over your myriad of proof readers! ;) =O
You mean they missed it and so did I?
Shh! Don't spoil it...
Actually, not missed so much as misunderstood. Friend travelled from Stockholm to Pskov last year for work. He went Stockholm to Tallin by sea then Tallin to Pskov overland. I assumed this or something similar was the sea journey being modelled. If I were you I'd pretend that's what you intended all along :)
Still only had a quick couple of skims through the document (Real Life (tm) is so inconvenient!) but it looks very interesting.
Looks like there will be quite a bit of book keeping. These days my campaign rules try to keep things as simple as possible. It loses some of the granularity and detail but saves my ageing eyes and brain :)
Hard to tell without knowing the underlying combat rules but it looks like some factions are more powerful than others? Not something I have a problem with, if so. Most of my campaign rules over the last couple of decades have started "Rule One: Whoever told you life was fair?!" :)
Planning to take the Cossacks myself, since I think they'll be the weakest (very low on HC). And the Poles may be given to a relative rookie, though that creates its own balance of power problems.
Enjoy, and keep us posted...

TY. I have to get all five players under one roof now. Painting the five armies is a doddle by comparison.
Herding cats again ?
IanS ;)
Here's the map to go with the rules. Background purely cosmetic. It's not easy to read here, but the names of towns and the travel hazards are all specified in the text of the rules anyway.
Looks like a bottle neck on the Northern Front! ;)
Who's invaded norther Sweden recently?
Besides the reindeer?
Got trolls already. Rudolph can wait for his turn.
