Is there any official list on the order the different armies for Warbands will be released? What kind of time interval are you shooting for? One new army every two months? Two opposing armies at a time? (High elves with dark Elves, etc.)
Thanks!
All I know is it is the Barbarians next followed by the Undead, and I think I have read somewhere that about one army a month is aimed for. :)
We're aiming for 1 army per month, but that will depend on how busy we are and how much sculpting is involved at Techno's end. Next up is the Barbarians, which are here for moulding now, and then the Undead will be after that. Dark Elves are pencilled in after those, but we need to send some more figures down to Techno for the conversions first.
After that, there's no set list in place yet. Some of the ranges are going to take some time, like the new Dragonmen for example, as those are going to be all new sculpts.

I'm really excited to see what Techno makes of these. :)
Thanks for the info. New Dragon men are exciting. Im still glad dwarves were first though. :) Along with their traditional foes , the greenskins. :Ph

Or blue skins (ice goblins).
Or...well...i might do mine as red skins (fire goblins), or yellowish 'sallow' tones as they should be...
;D
Looking forward to the Dark Elves, is it true there won't be not cold ones? :(

I think blue skin in frozen wastes look spot on. Back in the day when I started HOTT Berkeley RBS did a 28mm blue goblin army. The look is great!

The Dark Elf list has no cavalry at all.
FDE5 is Dark Elf Raptor riders.
Just use Mercanary Knights? ;)

Huzzah!
Not quite the same though. Shame, I reckon there inclusion would have pulled a few more Warnaster players into the fold. :-\
Suspect the idea is to move away from the EE Dark Elf model...
Drow are far cooler! ;)

Agree with that. ;)
I will be doing some of the new Picts for Warband, they may not be enough for an army (yet) but as allies or merceenaries I think they could fit in rather well, they will add variety at the very least I think. :)
Perhaps include them in Dragonmen, taking on the Ice Goblins in the near Tundra regions. Hmmmmmmmm. :-\
New Amazons NOT wearing life preservers PLEASE!
If/When I get to remake those......
They certainly aren't going to have 'lungs' that size ! X_X :D
Cheers - Phil
Always prefered an 'a' cup!
Or a B, or C, or D, or E, or...
Okay, maybe not Amazon big!
A or B any day.
Good old Herodotus said that the Amazons wore armour and it was only when stripping the dead Amazons of their armour that their enemies discovered they were indeed women! (The women must have looked ugly then. :-\ )
Personally though not fond of insect bites either!
Greeks were weird and scared of women.
I'd like to see the Amazon's given a bit of a South American make over. Adorned with feathers, head dresses, that kind of thing - Amazons from the Amazon if you like. Gives a good contrast to the other human factions and keeps them scantily clad ;)
Amazons were thought to hail from a Scythian style background, so lots of young ladies clad in that style armed with bows and running around on horseback is what I would like to see.

A bit small for sculpting Brazillians :D
Stop it !! ;)

If I might make a suggestion, as I started all this talk of Amazons.
I would suggest three types of 'foot' Amazons.
Type 'A'; Dressed and armed in much the same way as the male Barbarians. This would allow them to be mixed in with the male barbarians and one or two other types.
Type 'B'; Armoured Amazons, dressed and equipped in some generic style armour so they can be mixed with other periods and ranges as well as being used with the Type 'A' Amazons as 'regulars' or 'noble' infantry.
Type 'C'; Skirmishers, nude or semi-nude figures armed with bows and javelins. These can have all the feathers and stuff to make them look like 'savages' while at the same time allowing them to be used as light infantry for the 'A's' and 'B's'.
Also needed are some good horse mounted types (why did the designer of the old range mount them on camels?), plus of course command and magic figures.
I think I've been thinking about this too much, for inspiration just type in 'Female Warriors' or 'Warrior Women' into Google Images.
