Title: Hello from Spain
Post by: Theophanes on 04 April 2015, 10:25:16 AM
Gentlemen, I am a wargamer from Spain, currently interested in SYW, together with some fellow wargamers in Murcia

We are planning to set a campaign using the excellent Pendraken Range.

Comming back to you soon.

Welcome.

May I ask, are you Spanish? If so, please accept my compliments on your English.

May your time on the Forum be fruitful and may you enjoy your Pendraken figures!

SYW is not my forte, but I would be very interested in any photographs you take. Of your figures. Not personal ones. That would be weird. Though we do weird on this forum. So maybe it wouldn't be weird. Would it be weird? I don't know now.  :-\

I'm painting WWII Russians at the moment.

A Spanish player is no doubt interested in the conquest of Mexico too, right? :)

Yeah, Grant and Bragg gave them some stick at Vera Cruz and Mexico City, and it was goodbye to California, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, and no chance of regaining Texas.

Their successes down Mexico way were rather more permanent in their effects.

NO one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
Welcome. Enjoy.
Ask anything you like, but don't expect sensible answers all the time.

Wow!

What a good wellcome, I must say!

Thank you very much for your comments

I´m painting some SYW Prussian and Austrian, but I have to paint a full SYW Russian Army!

We randomize the kingdom of our next campaign of the excellent "Warfare in the Age of the Reason" and I will command the Russians, so...

Good Lord! That's exactly the same situation I'm in with my SYW stuff.

Russians tend to be more uniform than the other nations. Not much of a choice of facing colours. And the infantry colours - "baroque" is the only word that fits, I think!

Even easier to do if you go for the red vest (sleeved) and red breeches approach. Infantry summer uniform is a doddle and will make the Russians look decidedly different from the Austrians and Prussians. Baccus do a good range of SYW Russian flags. I find that their flags are oversized for 6mm figures and work particularly well with 10mm.
