Title: New show on the gaming calendar
Post by: skywalker on 27 March 2015, 12:31:27 PM
Saturday 4th April sees a new show, Teesside Wargames Convention.
This is being held at the Southlands Centre, Middlesbrough (where Smoggycon used to be held)

My club, Redcar Ironbeards is running a 15mm demo game based on the secret plans drawn up for Churchill in spring 1945.
Operation Unthinkable was for a suprise attack against the Russian forces in Germany by a combined force of British, Canadian, American and  around 100000 Werhmact.

If you are coming along to support this new show please stop by our table, we don't bite and love talking to anyone  :D :D

Why do I get the impression that the vast majority of wargames shows are situated north of the Humber? It's very frustrating.  :'( :'( :'(

Cause the organizers have too much taste to go down to lundern

Anyway there is Derby, Alunwell, Reading and Newbury all well south.

I have no idea because as far as I can see most of the shows are in the Midlands or further south. These shows seem to be the only ones where the traders I really want to talk to go, as well :(

And they're held on a Sunday so people like me who rely on public transport can't get to them anyway.

So these days I get to Claymore and Carronade.

Which, to be fair, probably saves me spending shed loads of money I don't have on wargaming things I'll never use :)

I am coming back from holiday that day, I wonder if the wife and kids would mind a detour via Middlesborough?

Shall we have a forum vote on what the response might be? ;D
