Hi All,
does anyone have any pictures of the WWI Americans?
I'm wondering if they would be suitable for Americans and Filipino forces in the Philippines in 1941-42?
I'm thinking about using Too Fat Lardies, Chain of Command with probably a platoon of Philippines Scouts v a Japanese platoon from 48th Division.
Does anyone know if there is a list for 1941 Americans for CoC?
I would also be interested in pictures of the Japanese.
See what you have done Pierre the Shy ~X(

Not sure abut the officers, the page seems to say they are wearing greatcoats, but you could always request British officers:-

Maybe the Chauchat could be converted to a Lewis or BAR.
Cavalry are also wearing the British style helmet, carrying rifle, full horse furniture.
Maybe you could press gang some 8th Army as well.

Maybe you could use the SCW troops in sombrero, Vietnam troops in bush hat or Vietminh for Scouts or guerrillas.
There is an unofficial list for Us Phillipines at https://xa.yimg.com/df/Toofatlardies/US+Philippines.pdf?token=m5pYOnfHCe_MbdiPQRPyOi5kfdpvH--K5NohgXBiubSNa1QDGtTs6FN7nsUClgqiXzw-d9-m7liZsKndomrvDCWuYrD7oa21Ezpbg9Fy80ZcGJ9zFu9HOk5KX2aaq6GEIB1QCJVpArc&type=download (https://xa.yimg.com/df/Toofatlardies/US+Philippines.pdf?token=m5pYOnfHCe_MbdiPQRPyOi5kfdpvH--K5NohgXBiubSNa1QDGtTs6FN7nsUClgqiXzw-d9-m7liZsKndomrvDCWuYrD7oa21Ezpbg9Fy80ZcGJ9zFu9HOk5KX2aaq6GEIB1QCJVpArc&type=download) and a discussion at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Toofatlardies/conversations/messages/165031 (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Toofatlardies/conversations/messages/165031) at the Yahoo group.

Many thanks Grumpy
You are a font of knowledge :) :)
I've done a bit more research that I will probably share with Richard at TFL.
Looks like the Philippines Scouts had M1 carbines, Thompson SMGs and BAR, while wearing the WWI US helmet and equipment.
I don't think I will find a range with that mix :(
I certainly don't fancy 30-40 head swaps X_X X_X X_X
Hello paulr
Are you sure about the M1 carbines. I would have thought they would have been the M1 Garand rifles. The carbines didn't comes on the scene till later, and headed off to European theatres first.
Here is the 8th Army Thomson gunner:-

If you can paint some 'goop' on his legs to hide the shorts, he might fit in.
The Chauchat LMG with the semi-circular magazine cut off looks enough like a BAR to get by. Maybe a fuse wire bipod at the front :-\.
There is a thread where we talked about US Marines in China which might be helpful:-

You could always expand it to Wake Island and bring the navy in as well :d :d.
Cheers

Sorry, meant M1 Garand rifles. One of the sources was 26th Cavalry having M1 ... Cavalry carbines ....
Will have to think about how obvious the differences are at 10mm, the 8th Army Thompson gunner would fit with something added around the knees :-\
Interesting thread on US Marines in China, I already have a large chunk of the US navy, shame none of it turned up at Wake ;)
Plenty of scope to add Marines (4th Marines from Shanghei) navy and army air corps ground forces in the Philippines
Will be having a trial game of Chain of Command this weekend so will see if this project has legs ;)
