.....the Northern Lights last night ? (And got photo's ? :))
Apparently visible, even in the South of England.
Needless to say I didn't !. :'( :'( :'(...And it's a 'phenomenon' that I'd love to see.
I expect it'll be cloudy on Friday....and I won't be able to see the eclipse properly, either. :(
Cheers - Disappointed of Wales.
Wales = Rain, so no probably about it.
IanS
Didn't see them either - was cloudy where I am. And to rub the salt in the wound even further, I was in the Isle of Skye last week where I would have had a great view if I had been there last night! :'(
Sadly not with light pollution in Bristol :(.
AAARRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
I missed it too.
Didn't see a thing; annoyed because this is on my bucket list :'(
Yep, wonderful view of clouds and light mist.
:'( :'( :'(
Nope, got home at 11.45pm, clear skies, looked no different to usual.
Nothing over here, we've gone out a few times to try and catch them but we're always unlucky. I am tempted to try and catch the eclipse on Friday though.
I suppose, with the eclipse, we'll at least know it's happening, as it'll go all dark. ;)

I'll have finished work about 5am though, so I'd still be in bed normally... Might have to get Adele to give me a nudge if it's a clear morning.
Sadly it was far too cloudy here up here in the North. Anyone thats interested you can download an official auroawatch app which will send you tweets or messages when the auroa might be visible in the UK
Northern lights?
All we can see this far south is the glow of the French Coast. ;)
It was far too cloudy, we also have the refinery Illuminations to compete with, a wonderful orange glow on the horizon for miles around
Down in Glasgow so no chance.
Well....'Saw' the eclipse by using a crude pin hole camera.
Much better on the TV ! ;D ;D ;D
Better do some work now. :-[

Hi Phil
Even had an Eclipse here in Middle earth :D :D :D :D
Martin
Bit of an anti-climax here in Tamworth :(
Managed to catch a glimpse or two through the clouds. :)
09:00 - Brilliant sunshine, clear and nearly cloudless sky.
09:30 - Cloud, obscuring the eclipse
10:00 - Brilliant sunshine, clear and nearly cloudless sky.
Bleh!
Quite frankly, I.....You didn't miss much.
Lovely clear skies throughout the whole process, here.....
It just went very slightly darker.....A bit like dusk, but nothing significant.
Mart....First one since we've been here, in Mordor...
Thing is.....'They' keep going on about an eclipse in 1999....I still lived in Notts then.....Don't remember that one at all !
Perhaps it was cloudy all day and we missed it.
Cheers - Phil.
As the light was getting duller in the lead up to the eclipse, I went outside and could hear the birds singing (presumably they thought it was dusk). Started to feel it getting a little colder (but assumed that was because I wasn't dressed for the Scottish weather - but who knows). Then stood at the kitchen window and, when the sun came out from the clouds (as much as it can during an eclipse!), got a few good images using the pin hole method Phil mentioned. Also had the TV on in the kitchen at the same time so I could watch it when the clouds came back!
So considering we weren't going to get a 100% eclipse and the less than clear sky here in the West of Scotland, not a bad experience. In 1999, I was stuck in an office and yes, you guessed it, it was cloudy on that day also! I think someone mentioned (Dara O'Briein?) the next one is in 2026!
Didn't seem to notice it at all, slightly darker, perhaps but as it was cloudy it was hard to tell
I think I should have mentioned before......
As Marvin (H2G2) would have said......"I've seen it.....It's rubbish !"
Cheers - Phil
My wife is livid. She went to Iceland last year just to see the aurora borealis and got nothing. Now everyone gets to see it but us southerners. :'( :'( :'(
It's amazing how quickly it got cold.
