Title: panzerzug !
Post by: haupt on 16 March 2015, 07:57:25 PM
Gentlemen, I've just received a BP42 armoured train from Shapeways, any suggestions what Pendraken shinies I could use to provide a decent crew ?

I'd have thought that a pack of gunners without guns would be most useful. I'm sure if you ask Leon nicely that could be arranged.

Hello Haupt

First, consider that you don't like it any more and send it to me immediately  :d :d.

Otherwise you could use WW1 Austrians as field cap wearing crew:-

The marching figures would make good rail sentries.

Artillery crew.

or the AH centre figures as just sitting and thinking types.

Or some other WW2 gear:-

Use the AA off the Opel.

or GR078 - Seated Infantry (can't find a photo).

Cheers

Unless you actually want a spare Opel, you could use GR56 20mm quad A.A. with crew rather than GR54 Opel Blitz truck (sides down) 20mm quad.

DAK crew might also be useful.

The only armoured train I've ever really thought about getting is the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway one, I'd need to do it in 6mm with 10mm crew I guess.

Oh I love that tiny armoured train 8)!!! That would look so cool on the table, would probably require quite a bit of effort to make it look right.

Wowzers, that's a very miniature railway to actually take into a fight :D

What the picture didn't show is the Thomas The Tank locomotive.

Hi Haupt,

I've just had a look at this on Shapeways' website; do you have a photo of the train?

Four Lewis guns, two Boys anti-tank rifles and a couple of Brens apparently. Not going to stop the German panzers but it might have given any Fallschirmjagers who came across it a surprise!

Something to think about for the VBCW crew too.
