I'm after photos of Beckers command vehicle GR 231
I'm just trying to decide where the machine gun goes there's a shield of sorts In front of the commanders hatch but then there's another one a couple of millimetres in front of that !

The description and confusion now makes sense ;)
Yes Paulr
I was using the description and code from Pendrakens catalogue.
But looks like they have got it wrong they call it Beckers command vehicle.
when it's actually an artillery observation vehicle.
From evidence it looks like there was less than 50 built.

Sean
I believe it was also used as a command vehicle in StuG Bttln 200

Thank you for the picture Old Smokie.
NTM from what I've read they were used only as observation vehicles.
They are described as cramped inside ( even without the extra command radio's)
Stug Bttn 200 was indeed Beckers Bttn. But various old French tanks were gathered by him and modified into useable vehicles for 21st Pzr Div. the other picture posted by Dazza is another french vehicle commandeered by 21st Pzr this time a U304(F) if my memory serves me right.

Not just 21 Panzer. There were many other units in Normandy using vehicles converted by Baustaokommando Becker. Not just Normandy either the Marder I got to Tunisia with 334 division and various units in the east.
The vehicles were all done with Beckers Panzer division in mind, so conversions on the French chassis'.
