Hi, some weeks ago we played the battle of Magenta, Ronan wrote a Report, here is the link:

A good report (thanks for the translation) of an interesting game :)
The map terrain certainly gives the game a different feel. I assume someone has access to a very large printer :)
What rules were used?
Fascinating game, LM. And I actually didn't need the translation (most of the time!).
Superb game and layout. Excellent report. Will be trying Magenta and Solferino myself at some stage, using Bloody Big Battles. I notice that you used Bruce Weigle's 1859.
Love the map look to the table. If I only had the time and space, I'd love to give this sort of game a go. I think I will be limited to parts of these battles, but at least I'll be playing them.
Excellent stuff !
Cheers - Phil
Formidably formidable.
Very very cool 8))
Tres, tres bon!
The game looks great and from the narrative sounds like it was a fun game to play.
Playing on a map is an interesting idea that seems to work well.
That table looks fun!
Excellent!! :-bd :-bd
Nice concept for a figures wargame, superb
I love your table layout; quite inspirational :-bd
LeManchou,
Wow, that was fantastic! I love the look of the map as a playing surface, and what a massive game. Very impressive, I hope you and Ronan (as well as the rest of the players) had a great time.
V/R,
Jack
Excellent - one of my all time favourite battles
i'm trying to do it on a 6x4 table - I envy the size of your table
Alan
BBB does it on a 6'x4' table.
How did Sebastien make that map? :-\
Thanks a lot for all those nice comments. The scenario and original map is from Bruce Weigle 1859 rulebook. The painted map (8'X 6') is from Wang He, a Chinese painter from Changchun, she is working for me for at least 5 years now mainly for my enormous 1870 project. I painted all the miniatures, Pascal did the mediterranean houses for me (he is preparing an 1870 range for next year). René invited us at his home, and offered the Pizzas and coffees, Davy brought a nice bottle of Alsace white wine and Ronan did this excellent battle report. So this was a team work. I think we all agreed that this was a very enjoyable game.
C'est tres bien! =D>
Attractive game (and interesting touch with the map). Should have attacked a la baionnette, Le Manchou! :)
Tres bon! Excellent! Good show!
Looks like a fun battle. I have only done the canal crossing part of the battle in 15mm. I like the idea of the map on the table. Not sure how it would go over at the club. Maybe you could sell the map and other people could enjoy the map.
Okay, I need to say this:
Columbia?
Riff Raff?
Brad?
Janet?

we have educated people here ! =D>
Jack : yes, we had good time, but I was a bad Napoleon-the-small ( and this time, I can't blame the dice ! ;) )
"It's astounding
Time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll"
seemed appropriate given where I'm posting :)
Glad I got that out my system...
