Wow wow wow!
=D>
Looks like we have embarked on very similar projects!
Lovely work.
Which rules you basing for?
Gotta love the big units...in any scale. Nice painting and basing by the way. :-bd
These are nice ..... very, very nice! 8) :-bd
Thanks guys
it does indeed Mad Lemmy. Originally based for FOGR but i'm leaning towards writing a theatre specific set but thats a way down the line...lol
I'm going FogR too! :)
Very nice indeed :)
Cheers
Ian

Excellent work and they really have a wonderfully cohesive feel to them 8). Clib's sculpts do make this period extremely attractive to want to paint and game.
Lovely looking stuff.
Very nice =D>
Awesome!! :-bd This is a period I am interested in too but I am a way off doing overly much about it, have a fair few figures but not done anything with them yet, you are an inspiration sir!!
Beautiful Work! =D>
Very nice looking army! I'm doing LoA as well and opted forFOGR basing with lots of figures! The unit sizes look great.
I'll probably use Pike and Shotte rules
What sources are you using for your uniforms?
I'm drawing a blank I'm several units at the moment...
Apart from internet .....
The Dutch Army of William III
TheBritish Army of William III
William II at War Scotland and Ireland 1689-1691 all by Sapherson
The Army of James II Uniforms and Organisation by Stephen Ede-Borret
and 3 Osprey books
Army of Louis 14th
Jacobite Rebellion........this doesn't have that much on Ireland
Battle of the Boyne
and ive got the Mcnally, Battle of Aughrim to come
Superb painting. Really inspirational stuff. Well done.
Phil
Truly beautiful - the restrained colours give them an "antique" feel. 8)
They are a little brighter than they appear in the photo's. Lighting was a problem and using a flash took all depth out of the picture to the point that they appeared flat. A course on macro photography is needed now :D
You just need to increase the contrast on the image a bit, like so.

what flash setting are you using?
lovely work

Thank you. :)
All the pics in this thread were taken with a Video cam while i moved a day light bulb around, i just chose the best out of them. The pics taken with my camera have no flash settings available and all looked terrible to be honest. I think i need to buy that bounce flash ive been promising to buy sooner rather than later.
I take mine outside, if it's not raining!
thats what i planned..the day before sunny, day of photoshot.....chucking it down. Teach me to leave it til the last moment i suppose. lol
if you need any info on units let me know and i'll see what ive got. Ive found the League of Augsburg forums very useful
Might be cheaper just to get yourself a mini-tripod and fire the still camera on ten-second delay. It's what I do.

For me, the photography has turned out to be WAY harder then the painting.

Those are superb! (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)
I am literally just about to start work on a League of Augsburg project
so these pics are an inspiration. Great to see how other people have
approached this - unit strength, composition, basing, painting, choice
of units etc. I'm right in the middle of the planning stage so really
appreciate this thread, particularly as the painting is so good.
Fantastic stuff. Thank you for posting the pics.
Phil
By the way, for information on the Irish campaign, and the period in general,
you might be interested in several of the books by John Childs :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Childs/e/B001JOWPAO/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Childs/e/B001JOWPAO/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1)
'The Williamite Wars in Ireland' should be bang on target for you. You can
probably find this cheaper than the price quoted by Amazon. I have also read
'Warfare in the Seventeenth Century' and 'The Nine Years War and the British Army'.
Both very good reads with a ton of information.
I'll be keen to see how this thread develops.

Superb work, Redstef. And a nice big chunky unit (obsessed with size? Moi?)
Agree completely, lovely job :-bd
Nice work Redstef! 8)
Nice worl
If I wasn't up to my ears in ongoing 6mm projects this is the one period that is calling to me.
with the first phase of the Jacobites nearing completion it's about time the Williamites had a boost
