Hi all.
I keep reading new forum members saying "been lurking here for ages" etc.
So...

THIS FORUM NEEDS YOU!
Warband apppears to have flushed a few out of the undergrowth. ;D

True enough :)
A combine would get us a few more - and I am sure Nik would be able to get one.

Blessed is the man with nothing to say, who cannot be persuaded to say it!
If people are happy "lurking" then good on them. Enjoy the enjoy the banter or ignore it, pick up useful information or grind your teeth in frustration at people's ignorance, be inspired or demoralised by the painted figures and conversions.
Of course, if you WANT to join in then go for it, this is one of the most relaxed, friendly, welcoming and non-judgemental forums I've ever been on.
Without the lurkers, those of us who post regularly would be shouting into the void.

Was trying for a little friendly encouragement; I hope it didn't come across as anything else :)

I'd encourage anyone who wanted to to join in, nothing wrong with a little encouragement in that area getagrip, just don't want those happy lurking to feel they're viewed as "doing it wrong." :)

Didn't realise I'd implied they were.

That would be because my post was inspired mainly by Luddite, ianrs54 and my experience on other forums :)
It wasn't intended as a rebuttal of your post but rather an amplification.
The written word is such a blunt instrument :(
All good :)
So....any lurkers out there? :D
Lurkers gonna lurk...

Of course you all realise that if the 'lurkers' became active members then there would be even more posts to read and comment on! :o

That can only be a good thing surely?
I think this must be the longest thread we've had about Hordes of the Things on this forum
This thread can come back twice, with the right PiP score.

Of course 'Yes', but then again 'no', it detracts from painting time. :(
But then again, it is great to have a laugh, find out something interesting, and generally 'hang out' whilst for the 3rd time wondering whether you have chosen the right 'green' for 10mm Warband Goblins! :-\

Do goblins have to be green? ;)

Not painting them for myself so the answer unfortunately is 'yes'.
I personally think of orcs as brownish with perhaps a green tinge, but that is not how the world sees them!

Call for Aztecs and you might as well be doing just that.
Meanwhile, what would B5 be without lurkers?
As a lurker I usually find the answer to my question on the forum before I need to post. Keep up the good work ye 10% :)

You're not a lurker; you're on board. No going back now :d
I would advise all lurkers to become contributors as I find this forum my favourite as people on here are a knowledgable and very nice bunch of gamers unlike some forums. Well worth getting involved plus Pendraken is the dogs whatsits! m/

When you say "combine" do you mean that big red thing with the blades on the front?
No, that's the army of Ii Naomasa.

Yep - great for removing the long grass....

That too. But Naomasa's life story would make a better tragedy.
As a qualified Stalker I resent being tarred with the lurker brush ... :-\

I have a fondness for Naotaka having controlled the Ii in a game refighting Tennoji.
My Red Devils punched a hole in the enemy line .... and died to a man doing it :o Our reserves poured through the gap and we won the battle.

Explicitly denied by the band then and now. It's a song of lost love and teenage angst, apparently.

I'll pit my combine against any number of Japanese. Especially if they're up for single combat...

That could get messy :-&
Proper combines and goblins are both green in color.
1st post!
A very warm welcome to you, AP.!
Cheers - Phil.
Welcome from me Pilgrim ;)
Welcome Pilgrim
What ho! Pilgrim.
Jolly good first post. Keep up that standard and you'll fit in just perfectly. :P
Almost 2 1/2 years between registering and posting...I am impressed!
Howdy pilgrim. Welcome out into the light. Its not as warm as in the cave, but the stars are wonderful! :)
Goblins are green eh?

Thats not a Goblin...Thats a really old Willow
Orcs and goblins are at the swarthier end of human skin tones ... except svart alfar who are black and white piebald, at least according to Alan Garner :)
Welcome accursed_pilgrim. At least, after two and a half years, you know what you are letting yourself in for :)
This forum is informative and friendly with not a Troll in sight. So thank you all.
I don't have any Pendraken figures or even any historicals at all (may help explain my lurker status) right now but the forum has convinced me. I plan on running Blackpowder AWI and colonials with Pendraken figures in the future. I found some great gaming and research tips and there are some amazing painters here too.
I'm not sure what I have to add to the forum but I am a regular visitor and do get a lot from it.
Hello and welcome! :)

That crawl out of the svart-mines gave me the heebie-jeebies about forty years ago.

When I was about 16 I spent a summer holiday staying with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins in Altrincham, Cheshire. My aunt lent me a copy of The Weirdstone of Brisingamen and told me that if I read it before the end of the holiday they'd take me to see the area that story is set in. I read it in about a day and a half and as a result found myself up on Alderley Edge at sunset. So there I was, visiting the Wizard's Well and Clockhouse Wood with my mind still full of thoughts of svart alfar and the Morthbrood and Grimnir as the mist stole in. Now THAT was creepy!!

I always wanted to go there having read the book as a nipper.
Cracking story. Helped fuel my interest in fantasy gaming too I'm sure.
