Desperately need the infantry though. (whinger? moi?)
Just need the M50 and M51 for both '67 and '73 and the Magach series for '73, then can game the two wars.
Chad
OK - to keep the whinging suferener 'appy - MODERN INFANTRY.
To be fair - the Falklands stuff covers most NATO including UK, and Vietnam US are also usable up to the early 80's although the Brodie helmet on the Brits will need disgusing - should be the 44 model. We need generic WarPact stuff, plus Froggies and 85+ for all - Fritz Helmet, or new British one.
IanS
No interest in these but they are sublime models and knock spots off other ranges vehicles ;)
Very nice indeed 8)
Look good to me. :)
Corrr! Look at the lack of skirts on that! Bet she goes like a Sho't. Had a little bit added on top. Verry nice. Bit of a bustle too? Keeps some junk in that trunk? Bet that beauty can dominate some terrain, and dish out some much ... needed ... punishment.

My new book "50 shades of Centurion" will be out in October.

I think you need two of the Purple Pills Nobby
They awesome!!!!! I join with the frogs and misc warpac!!! Although I wonder how the m56 helmets from the DDR would look in 10mm scale :-\
Tell the sculptors the Argentinians aren't far off from 67-73 Israelis (FN-FALs), and the .30 cal M1919 from the French Indochina range and bazooka is probably pretty close too (I know the MG is, I don't think I've seen the bazooka though). And the Argentinian SF with SMG is close enough to an Uzi if you put a helmet and some gear on him.
I'm just saying...
But we need new figs for Arab/Warsaw Pact. I looked at the North Vietnamese, but even if you put proper helmets and gear on them, they're quite a bit bigger than the Falklands range troops.

Jack

The models look really great but I think there is a slight problem with the AMX-13 because the turret looks like it's set too far back (unless that is the photo angle playing tricks on me). The front of the turret ring should be level with the rear of the second front wheel. As it is it looks like the Scimitar's dad.

Interesting comparison Resaider Singh. Well observed. You are correct - the AMX is not quite right, is it? Whilst, I don't think the angles with regard to the turret are condusive to a true comparison, for me, the position of the fan on the engine hood is more conclusive. On the real example, this is above the first and second wheels. On the model, the second and third. A pity 'tis, 'tis true (but I will not go so far as saying, "a foolish figure"). Alas, the world of miniatures is full of distortions and inaccuracies (out of proportion heads and hands, bayonets as long as the miniature's legs [yes, AB and Eureka, I'm talking about you], etc.) but, overall, its not a bad sculpt, is it? I suppose we just have to decide, is it so inaccurate that we don't want to have it or will we buy this because its the nearest representation we can get to an AMX (and if anyone points out the inaccuracies, we can proudly point out that we know)? :) :-B:)
Or you could mention the sculptor is a friend and even though there is a minor mistake he does a marvellous job, even after recovering from a massive tumour...
Hi Mart, love the work!
I was always fascinated by the AMX13 because of it's weird two-part turret.
As to the model being inaccurate. Will it look right on the table? I suspect so. I don't think you'll be laughed out the wargames club for fielding grotesques.
Not like me in Sheffield in 1983 - FSN
Agree fsn. Anyone who was so picky about a 10mm model generally seen from a distance on the table is a person to avoid.
Chad

Hi Mart, love the work!
On reflection, I should have known, considered and then mentioned Mart is a friend of yours and that he has just recovered from a massive tumour.
I'm new to the forum and did not realise how crucial these two facts were to this
minor matter ...
I would be happy to have the AMX even though I know it is not quite right. I would have thought that would have come through by my comments. Sheesh! Its a toy tank in a very small scale. If I worried about small inaccuracies, I would have to throw out at least half my collection. As I said ...

Mart. Didn't know you are the sculptor or about your tumour. I lost my Dad and my only brother to Mesothelioma within a 3 month period and can only imagine what a scary and traumatic experience that would have been for you. Glad to read you have now recovered.
[RS. Feel free to stand up for free speech. You did say, "The models look really great" and "slight problem" although I thought, "As it is, it looks like the Scimitar's Dad" was a bit harsh.]
Friend Singh and erm ... Westmarcher were making an observation.
I think they were done with respect and in good faith, and should not be too castigated for that.
I propose that Pendraken send a free ... no, three free samples of the AMX13 to everyone who has posted on this thread so far. That way we can all make our own minds up, as there is no substitute for the real thing.
If that works, I have a list of things wrong with the Sho't. A long list. At least a squadron's worth of gripes. - FSN
Dream on, Nobby ! ;) ;D ;D ;D

Comment not intended as a pop at anyone. Given scale of model comment appeared superfluous, particularly as both parties like the model.

The AMX13 and the Sho't have me reaching for my Arab-Israeli books.
Think we have enough in the vehicle range for a 1973 affaire ... but as has been said in many places, we could do with some modern infantry.
Is anyone close enough to Techno to go do his chainsawing for him, so he could knock up some figures this afternoon?
Without the T62 and Magachs, you will be hard pushed to do Yom Kippur
Chad
It wasn't meant as a pop at anyone, sorry. Was not meaning to upset.

precise accurate. ;) )
FSN - Thank you for your statesmanship. :o Methinks you may need to paint some of your vehicles white. Pity you used up all of your white paint on that trophy. :(
[here goes. Click.]
I was only trying to be empathetic with the new guy's points. It was an interesting comparison. I didn't agree with him but I couldn't help but notice another minor difference between the real one and the model. I didn't say anything disparaging. I quite like the wee tank. Difference doesn't bother me. It was an honest observation. Did I speak out against the regime? Chad says I should be shunned (is he Amish?). The Munich Rallies: I liked to think the crowd were shouting "Seek Help" but I was wrong. Again.

Crickey, that's nice. I don't recall moaning about the number of bolts on the drive sprocket but simply saying that, basically, while the AMX-13 was nicely executed there was a slight mistake (in a rather important area, i.e. does the turret sit in the middle of the tank or to the rear) which made it look "off".

Superfluous? On a board where people request figures for the Pomeranian Jäger zu Pferd marching band because the figures from the MAL 27 pack, while close enough, don't have the right lapels... ;D
Thanks for all the comments, always gratefully received and nothing wrong with feedback on any of our products/sculpts.
