I have finally got around to basing up the SCW I bought years ago for Chain of Command.
A Republican Militia Platoon with EPR Support and a Bando Nationale platoon to pit them against. Depending how I go, these may feature in the 2015 Painting competition
Pics ?!!!
:D
Just need the weather to hang out for one more day.
Ran out of undercoat spray and the good lady has buggered off to work with my card in her pocket!!! anyone would think i have money in my account and she's developed a cunning plan to stop me buying new shiny shinys!!
A lazy Sunday afternoons progress.
I hate the Macro function on the camera. I was really happy with the result of these figures until I saw them through the camera lens >:(

would a wash improve the figures??
Nice work Nosher
Its always hard to tell with washes when looking at photos
I am sure I have commented before on this site and others that such and such figure would look better with a brown wash only it had already been done but the camera flash had ( pardon the pun) washed the photo out
They look good to me.
As you have left black bits as shadows, I don't think a wash will make much difference, and may blend in the highlighting you have done too much.
I'd get the basing done and then see whether they need a wash or not. Sometimes a wash can dull them down a bit too much IMHO.
Look good. ;)
Wouldn't worry about how they photograph; naked eye is how you and everyone else will see them. I almost think there's a "style" of painting for photography (which mine just doesn't suit).
Managed to get half of the People's/Workers Militia done this afternoon.
Sticking with the 'style' I've had for years and will try to ignore MACRO!

MACRO always makes the highlighting on minis look too harsh IMHO. :-\
Hal;f a dozen more Militia and half of the Civil guard done tonight.
Cant wait to get the Civil Guard into action - they get Tear Gas!
On the downside, I ran out of bases so tried the lollystick method of basing prior to painting. Hated it, i think because i am so used to handling individual stands. it felt very clumsy!
Another 10 militia knocked out this morning.
another 10 militia to go and the remainder of the Civil guard. If her indoors doesn't find some jobs for me to do on my last day of leave i might even get the lot done today!

they're great !
Very nice Nosher
:-bd =D> :-bd
Finished off the Civil Guard unit today so just a handful of militia to finish before I move onto the Bando Nacional.
I've just ordered loads of vehicles, artillery and odds and ends which I hope to make a start on soon after. By then the CTV will be out and that will be my next SCW Force.
Militia done and an impressive start made on the Bando Nacionale.
Finished the Nacionale HQ, Support MMG's and the first squad. only the second squad and a few points of support to complete ;)
once the forces are done I will make a start on the basing. Sadly I ran out of bases for the Civil guard, but these are on order.
Cracking paint jobs, really pop out :)
No Pasaran!
Less than a month to complete two opposing forces for CoC SCW. Feeling quite pleased with myself!
Just the bases to complete and these will be in action!
Bando Nacionale and the People's Militia Flag Bearer

Cracking job Nosher!
:-bd =D> :-bd
A suggestion I picked up somewhere on the forum was to run a touch of appropriate colour along the edges of the flag to hide the white edge ;)
Very nice work again, Nosher !
Cheers - Phil.
Finished basing both forces today. Hopefully these will make an appearance in the PD Comp if i can find time to set something up and get someone else to do the photography!
I've also managed to kitbash some light mortars, rifle grenades and a flamethrower team. In 10mm this was fiddly as feck but i think i've got away with it....
Will post pics when they are painted and based
Kitbashed odds and ends painted and based this evening.
Now awaiting vehicular reinforcements, anti-tank crews and guns and some Asaltos to stiffen up the Militia units. I think I might hold off on entering the painting competition with these until 2016 so I can enter the whole army in the Army Category... :-\
Nationalist and republican reinforcements for my SCW CoC project.

Alongside studying in my final week of leave before I head off back to school for more Paramedic training, I'm trying to thrash out as much as possible as there will be a painting drought between now and May
Very nice, again, Nosher !
Cheers - Phil.
Nice work and love the barricades.
Yes Steve, they'll come in handy for hiding my militia ;)
What I'd really like though is barricades made from street furniture, household furniture and vehicles.....
To the barricades! No Pasaran!
I approve :)
Great work Nosher
It really is :)
