Title: Warmonger Miniatures
Post by: Capt Sensible on 21 January 2015, 07:08:53 PM
'Evening chaps,

Has anybody out there bought any of these figures from the USA? They look good but I've never seen any in the metal, so to speak.

They were launched through Kickstarter last year and I'm sure some of the Forum members were backers on it?  The Kickstarter is here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1765086496/10mm-german-landsknechte-with-zweihander-great-swo (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1765086496/10mm-german-landsknechte-with-zweihander-great-swo) and hopefully someone can give you a better idea on the quality of them.

I backed the kickstarter - the figures are very good. Lots of detail, but not too much to make painting impossible. Size wise they fit well with WM and Pendraken historicals.

The kickstarter was run very well and delivered very quickly.

They recently ran a painting comp and I did quite well this is the link to the Zweihanders thread, but if you go up a level there are lots more photos  http://www.forum.specialist-arms.com/index.php?topic=6896.0

Bit too late for my taste. Prefer pre to post Marignano.

If I'm reading that right, quite well,  seems to be an understatement  ;) =D>

Thanks, chaps. It's good to hear that they are compatible with Pendraken and that they can supply goods to the UK.

Lovely bit of painting, Fred 12!

Figures are superb. Casting is marvellous. Dave is a serious men and lover of the wargame hobby.

Yep they are compatible with pendraken

It's a shame that the crossbowmen and handgunners have not been produced as well.

Well Dave have the mind clear. He told when hpapens X number of sales then go for crossbowmen production.

Dave make this project on his own, so he make a great job. Anyway I think there are quite possibilities of seeing them in the future (just me opinion)

Yes, I think future models will be available - Dave is just waiting for enough sales to be able to fund the next round of sculpts - I think he pushed the boat out a bit on getting both the pikes and zweihanders done off the back of the kickstarter.

Power to his elbow. I would have thought later Landskechts such as these would sell very well. However, I can see a sort of chicken and egg scenario here: no capital to put into sculpts etc for crossbows or arquebus etc that might enable sales to really take off.

Future releases are in the cards. Launched the Arquebusier Kickstarter today:

It's already funded. :)

I'm a little confused, as there was a Warmonger Miniatures at Salute which seemed to be all Foundry staff?  Are there two Warmonger Miniatures?

Apparently. There's me and another with a line of Kev Adam sculpts sold by Wargames Foundry.

Ah right, no worries then, I hope that doesn't cause any issues/confusion down the line.  The figures look great, good luck with the Kickstarter!
