Well I am just setting off on my first working stint of the year to somewhere that offers me plenty of time to paint! Oh I do I have plenty to paint....
10mm.........LOA both sides, aiming for about a dozen infantry regiments per side, each of 52 figures and about the same of cavalry/Dragoons ( hopefully the mounted Dragoons will appear this year!)
10mm.........ACW both sides. Regiments are a lot small, 24 figures each. I'm about half way through with approximately 13 units of foot for each done and a load of Union cavalry also done ( both mounted and on foot)
15mm.........Commission, more FOW Russians
15mm..........just over 500 mid Republican Romans, the War and Empire Kickstarter which are just great minis!
15mm..........All Quiet on the Martian Front, British Expeditionary Force. This is my part of a 3 man project
And finally...15mm Celtiberians and Gaullic heavy foot, with a few cavalry, to finish off my Punic Wars project.
So as you can see I have a few things to do!
I will try and update this post with pics of the 10mm and anything else, if people are interested, hope for an update by this time next week!
Look forward to seeing those.
Same here !!
Cheers - Phil
Thirded!
Look forwards to seeing them.
Fourthded(?)
The LOA and Romans look especially interesting.
I'm intrigued by the 54 figure infantry units. They should be a sight worth seeing. So, consider the motion fifthted (try saying that with a mouthful of peas!).
Hertsblue,
If you check out my blog
warrenswargamerantings.blogspot.com
You will see some of the regiments I have already painted.
The Roman Republic....well a metal mountain's worth....just over 500 figures, Ive painted 24 Valites and nearly finished 24 more, just need to base them

Hertsblue,

I've found the cavalry and some skirmishers, but there don't seem to be any infantry regiments. If anyone else wants a look, they're here:

Valites? A popular sedative for bored Roman matrons?
Hi Hertsblue,
Here are a couple of infantry units
And very nice they are too. 8)
Liking those Ditch guards!
Was that Freudian, Will?
I believe they are known as polders rather than ditches :P
Aren't typos wonderful!
Here are my first completed units from the War and Empire kickstarter. As I have said before they are great sculpts and take the paint very well.
The army will consist of 4 Legions, each of 1 unit 16 Triarii, 3 units of 16 Principes, 3 units of 16 Hastati, 1 unit of 12 Velites and 1 unit of 12 of Cavalry. They will represent 2 Roman Legions and 2 Allied Legions
These are the Roman Velites
The Allied Legion Velites
Nicely done. 8)
Look damn fine, to me ! :-bd
Like those, lots !!
Cheers - Phil
:-bd =D> :-bd
Very, very nice, Bunny. :-bd
very nice
take care
andy
So here is what has been occupying my painting table over the past week or so.
First a commission from a PAW club member, 15mm FOW Soviets
A Katusha Battery
Very nice indeed !
Cheers - Phil.
Good work, Bunny.
Soviet 75mm Anti Tank Guns
Finally something for me, the latest addition to my LOA army.
This is my first cuirassier unit, again Clib's sculpting is just fantastic, the casting is crisp and they take the paint very well!
So here is the Cuirassier Regiment Erbprinz von Bayreuth. they were part of the Imperial Army of the Holy Roman Empire.
And very nice too, Bunny. I must say I like the larger picture of the Soviet guns - it shows off the painting that much better.
Some really effective dry brushing going on there Bunny.
All good stuff !!
Cheers - Phil.
All superb Bunny. Good work fella 8)
:-bd =D> :-bd
I have been busy since I last wrote on here, first up some 15mm commission work.
Soviet Artillery Command.
These are Battlefront minis
Next up Soviet 100mm anti tank guns, now you know these are going to be bad news for any Panzers out there! Again Battlefront
Last bit of commission finished, an objective marker or just scenery. A knocked out Soviet T26. The model is a Zveda kit from Russian
Ok finally a little bit of 10mm Pendraken...League of Augsburg Danish Regiment Fynske, these are in their green coats although they did later change to grey. The green coats make for a much more colourful battlefield! Also attached is a medium field gun, I did these as I read that the gunners wore purple coats and light green stockings....nice!
And someone did ask early about the size of my infantry units. This regiment has 55 figures, 50 flintlocks and 5 command. The Danes had dispensed with their pike by this time.
The foot are based on 30mmx20mm elements as I would like to use these with FOG R although Warlords' Pike and Shotte will also be tested!
A second view....next up on the 10mm side of the painting table will be the Danish Foot Guards.
In the mean time I am just about to finish and base 192 Punic Wars Roman Hastati...busy times!
Martian front? Explain please :)

Alien Dungeon's All Quiet on the Martian Front.
A really great range of alternative history. A group of us at PAW are doing it a project and I am painting the British Expeditionary Force, when I get a chance! lol

Thanks, just looked it up. ;)
Don't think there's a day goes by without me learning about a new genre/style/period/manufacturer etc on here.

In their pretty primrose coats. :D Didn't stop them being Prince Eugene's stalwarts at Benheim though.
A WIP shot of the 192 Hastati, painted, Army Painter Dark Tone applied and based....now for my least favorite part the basing itself!!!
I have another 192 Principes to do and then 64 Triarii and 48 cavalry....that will be 4 'Legions'. I blame John Roach of www.olicanalad.blogspot.com for fueling my meglamania!
More pics to follow............................................................
looking good :-bd
Top stuff! :-bd
:-bd =D> :-bd
8)
Cheers - Phil.
Here are 192 Hastati.....they are divided into 4 legions, 2 Roman, red and white shields and 2 Allied, blue and yellow.
I have chosen 5 smock colours as I am with the school of thought that if they were responsible for equipping themselves there would be a range of colours used.
To come 192 Principes, 64, Triarii and 24 Cavalry......now that is Legion! lol
Legion is 5500, keep going!
Great work though.
Great sight, Bunny, and very colourful. I've been considering doing the pubic punic wars myself but other things keep getting in the way.
Lovely stuff indeed, really nice looking legion. :-bd
:-bd =D> :-bd
Those look really nice :-bd
Love seeing a huge pile of painted minis!
Lovely job :-bd
Lovely !!
Cheers - Phil
At my club, PAW a few of us got together and went for the Alien Dungeon All Quiet on the Martian Front, my contribution, besides money, is painting the British Expeditionary Force, BEF.
So here are the initial efforts....
A Defiant Armoured Car and Cardigan Infantry Carrier....
They are big pieces of resin and with it being resin there are a few issues, but overall they are not bad
And the Cardigan Infantry Carrier
Do the Cardigan Infantry smoke pipes and wear carpet slippers?
EX - TERRR - MIN - ATE!

And all before tiffin...yip yip! :D
Ok here are the Danish Foot Guards I painted a while back, my next LoA with be French Infantry.
French Regiment Vermandois
Those are lovely!
Certainly are.....Terrific work ! :-bd
Cheers - Phil
Superb once again!! =D>
Great work, Bunny. I really like the way the pike-points are finished. A small feature, but it makes a surprising difference.
Another French regiment, Regiment Le Riene.
Think I've just said in another thread, that those are damn fine, Bunny !
Quick question for you. ;)
What colour is your 'background', Matey ?
Can't decide whether there's a colour cast in the shot. :-\
Cheers - Phil
