Hello, I've done a trench in a box. The size is 25X25 cm. In the lid, you've the trench, and the box is divided in same parts in order to put figurines and decors.

Welcome - that is really clever, and really well done.
The painting on the figures is very good (its worth clicking on the photos to see more details).
What did you use to make the barbed wire?
Thanks O Dinas Powys and fred 12df for your messages :),
in fact it was a long, but very sympatic job. I did it with sand, matches, piece of wood, clay and so mutch wood's glue.
Welcome Mr Z42.
Nice work.
(Chaps. I think we should have a bylaw which requires cadets to post something we can all "enjoy", before they post anything of such quality.)
About barbed wire, i use some tulle fabric.
Fantastic stuff. One of the best trench systems I've seen and really well painted figures.
Brilliant idea! Lovely figures!
Great work! 8)
The box is a brilliant idea =D> =D> =D>
The figures are magnificent :-bd =D> :-bd =D> :-bd =D>
I love the camouflage on the German helmets, how did you do the black outlines :-\
Definitely worth enlarging the photos guys, the detail is impressive :o
Wow, those are amazing! Nice work, and welcome to the forum.

Excellent, Forez, and highly ingenious. The figures are beautiful.
What an impressive debut on the forum. Well painted diorama, nice eye candy and ......a major breakthrough on how to model barbed wire in 10mm
Tulle fabric eh? Amazing.
Your soldiers look lovely.....but can they "fight" when the dice rolls? In other words are you a modeller or a gamer? It makes no difference on this forum, as it is the modellers who lead the way in painting figures.

It's very nice to paint german's helmet.
First step : you paint in black the helmet
2nd step : you paint little brown, green, sand stains on. To be careful of leave a small black line between the stains.

Hello Sunray,
Thanks about your message, but the stuff idea isn't from me. I find it on the "Steel Master Thématique, issue 25" about the WWI. My friend José Duquesne writted an article on this, the topic was a storm on German trench by two FT-17 (1/35e). In this article, how he has done the sand bag with glay and barbed wire with stuff.
About my trench, its not a diorama, its a board game. In fact, in Vae Victis magazine (issue 88), the board game was a little trench storm with 30 French pieces who struggle 10 Germans.
The autor explain the piece can replaced by figurines. I've found it was more funny to replace the board too.

3rd step. You get a very bad headache from staring at very tiny things. :P

:) Yes, of course, but with a good whisky it's more easy ;)
Really like that, nice job, you could whip it out and a limitless trench game wherever you are, great idea
Great stuff! Working on my own WW-1 project now so your work is really inspiring!
Cheers,
Rob
