Title: Touch of Nostalgia - Old Pyro/Lifelike ship kits 1950s/60s
Post by: GrumpyOldMan on 30 December 2014, 01:24:08 AM
Hi All

While I was scrounging around looking for info on ship kits, I came across an eBay sale of old kit (pic attached below).

These were very simple kits, Fattened wide hull and deck (which included all the detail including cannons), wooden/cane masts and blowmoulded sails. I know I had the Barbary pirate and the Constitution. I used both in battles with Airfix Combat Group and German ww2 infantry.

The thing that struck me when I looked at them was that "Hey, they'd be good for gaming now, wide deck and stable without having to saw off the bottom of the hull."

Excuse me now, I'll just go over to the corner, immerse myself in memories and dribble.... just another day really  :D :D.

Cheers

Good find, Grumps ! :)
Can't say I remember ever seeing one of those.  :-\ (Said he, trying to imagine it fully assembled.)
