Crossing a river to capture a number of objectives or until the morale points ran out :)

Absolutely brilliant! Super figures and great terrain.
All it needs now is a report on the battle .... hint, hint ;)
Holy Tamoly that is a decent sized game! 8) Nice looking set up.
Who won?

Haha. We started at 1400 points per side for both sides. The defender owned 5 Objectives that had to be defended or conquered. The Defender owning all the Objectives received 1 Victory point per turn until he lost the first one for the first 8 turns. Each player lost a VP every turn. Each player received 50 pts reinforcements (RP) per turn and can exchange a VP for 100 RP. We played the Pike & Shotte rules by Warlord. The Defender dug in across the river and the Attacker started on the table a foot from the edge.
We, the Attackers, rolled mostly failures and blunders for the first 4 turns or so. The most damage we did the Defender was having him blow up two guns by rolling double 1s.....Then we decided to go for broke and exchange all our RP and bought large pike blocks. We threw all of them against the town on our left flank, but despite fierce fighting we failed to dislodge them from the built-up area.
In the middle I charged all my foote battalia and cavalry across the river and broke two hedgehog formations, one of them by a desperate massive cavalry charge where my Finns (Haaka Paale!) were decimated but still carried the fight, capturing one Objective! On the right Ivo's pikemen and halberdiers dislodged the Defender from another Objective. A cavalry countercharge by the Defender's cavalry reserve in the center was thrown back by my cavalry, regrouping just in time. We then decided to call it a day. Great game!
Most excellent, and good to hear the Hakkapeliittas did well! Hakkaa päälle!
Which rules are you using?
Cheers from frosty Finland,
Aksu
We use Warlord Games' Pike & Shotte rules.
And obviously I can't spell Finnish to save my life :-[
Superb !!
Cheers - Phil
Wow :o :o :o!!! That is one impressive game 8).
Great stuff.
Floppy hats and sabres, lovely!
Sounds a cracking game :) And looks like one too :)
Lorra lorra nice looking figures there. Like the terrain as well...are the buildings home made? If so they look great.
Don't let FSN see all the dice on that table; he'll have an apoplexy!
Not to mention the beer, snack bowl, tin of dice, tapes, rules... >:( ;D
From someone known for the phrase "declutter the table" :)
Ooooooohhhhh....
Some of the buildings look like the very small ones from Brigade Models.
The buildings are all scratchbuilt, most of them by Ivo and two by me. There is one papercraft house standing somewhere. The mill is a foamboard and coffeestirrer construction.
As for the clutter, well, there were a LOT of casualties and gaming is a social passtime, so eat and drink (beer and pretzels anyone?) is mandatory :D
Well I think those buildings look terrific and work very well with the 10mm scale.
Impressive builds too then!
Very impressive !
Can I just ask one thing - the cavalry shown in the third photo - where did you get these ?
Thank you for posting the pics.
Phil
Now that's what I call a battle! None of this "bijoux gamette" nonsense. Well done, those men! :-bd :-bd :-bd
Are the cavalry Old Glory perhaps?
Lovely looking game, great figures, just what I need more ideas about new ranges!! :)

As far as I can see, the ones in the foreground are the old Pendraken ECW Cavalry in Hat, while the ones in the background look like the Penraken TYW Croats. Any other ideas?
Mollinary
Mollinary is quite correct. Old ECW cavalry and TYW Croats. In front of them are a mix of the old and new ECW Cuirassiers.
This is really inspiring stuff! A real spectacle.
