This little package arrived from Mart recently, so we got some pics taken just before we shut up the workshop for Xmas!
First up we've got the A34 Comet, something which has been requested many times on the Forum. Reaching production just in time for the end of WWII, over 1000 of these were built, with them also seeing action in Korea. This is a lovely model as well, Mart's done a great job on it.

The other little present in the parcel should be of particular interest to fsn, as we're bringing another variant of his beloved Centurion to the party! I didn't have a set of tracks to hand unfortunately, so you'll have to use a bit of imagination on this one! The Centurion ARV had it's turret replaced with a superstructure housing the winch, able to pull 90 tonnes.

Hope you like them!

Oh! It's ... the best present ... anyone could ever ... give me! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
I'm so happy! :'( :'( :'( :'(
When?
Do you know *snurt* what would go well with the Comet?
Some Korean *snurgle* War infantry.
Just saying. - FSN
No Comets in Korea - Churchill Crocodiles, no flame trailier, Cromwells as recce troop, and something else.

Ummm....Centurions, perhaps? :) :)
Hmmm. I always thought there were a few Comets that sneaked their way into the Cromwell troops.
Whatever, I'd still like some Korean War infantry!
Comet perfect for WW2.5 and obviously Korea. Now we just need some Chinese army infantry and we're good to go :D.
Sweet sculpts Mart!
Sold!!

So its even more like FSN. Rumour has it that the last woman he pulled weighed 90 TONs ;D ;D
Nice vehicles. They will make good additions to the range
Nice!!! We just need that pershing now along with those Korean war infantry :)
The Centurion ARV is a nice looking mod, but to be a little bit critical wouldnt time and effort be better spent creating masters for the fighting vehicles before the rest of the sundry types
Please wash your mouth out!

Point about the variants is that the designer can use the basic hull, so the job's half done. :) :)
Great work again, Mart. 8)

Please wash your mouth out!
Have just done so with liquid soap :-& :-&
But you didn't deny it! ;D
For me, Pendraken could produce the complete range of Centurions: ARK, ARV, AVRE, BARV & dozer.
Other, less important vehicles should be a lower priority.
Thanks for the comments and for FSN the Centurion AVLB and ArK are on my list along with lots of others !!!!!!!!
:x

Oh No!!! FSN has now gone to the bathroom with the Vanguard book on Centurions X_X X_X :-&
It's OK. It's been laminated. :)
Might make turning the pages difficult....
Use your tongue, like everybody else.
...what? :P
Knowing Fsn he's probably laminated the book in a single pouch....
As I recall the Centurion ARV went on for ever, since the Chieftain variant was never put into production. There was a long debate in the early 1980s about whether we needed more accuracy per tank or tugs like the ARV to haul dead tanks away from the battle to where they could be repaired. The accuracy lobby won and as a result the chance of a first round hit was upped by abut 1.5% points at huge cost.

Hi Holdfast, Don't want to start an 'oh yes there was/no there wasn't' argument but all the armd divs in 1 BR Corps had Chieftain ARVs by the late 1970's, and then ARRVs - the one with the crane. They remained in service until Gulf War 1 at least. The only Centurion ARV I ever saw in service was at Ludgershall, in the mid-1980s, where it was used to move Centurion MBT hulks onto the ranges on Salisbury Plain.
