Title: Salagam's painting log
Post by: Sean Clark on 09 August 2010, 10:36:57 AM
Right up my street this. I have blogged on other forums progress and since I am being sucked into the warp that is 10mm I think I need to keep a diary.

I have been wargaming for over half of my life. I have painted, collected and gamed in most periods and genres. I have a large collection of 15mm at the minute, alomost all Peter Pig based for their rules. I wont lie, but cost is an issue for me with first baby imminent and a hankering for some larger games in the same space I have available. The AWI castings from Pendraken really caught my eye which are a fraction of the coast of 15mm (around 1/3 the cost). On delving deeper, the majority of the Pendraken range seems to be of similar quality.  Niks wiki is a great resource with examples of what can be achieved

So, my first foray into the world of 10mm. I have ordered a sample of various bits across a few ranges to flex my painting muscles. AWI/ACW are my main interests, so they will be a focus with some Sudan, Vietnam, WW1, fantasy and possibly late 19thc Europe sneaking in.

Order went in late last night, but for some reason Paypla directed me to 'e cheque' so that wont clear for a few days. Hopefully first figures will be here end of the week, beginning of next. I'll do similar to Timmo, but look at keeping regular updates. Similar to the 'What are you painting this month' threads, I will post my targets at the start of the month, blog my progress and then post a final tally for each month. Along with the odd thoughts/comments along the way.

Looking forward to it!

Sean

As an aside, when ever I type a post that is over a particular length, it disappears from view and I have to 'type blind' so to speak with the lines I am typing not staying on screen. Any one else have the problem or is it just me?

Good stuff Sean!  I've got your order here, but I'm a bit behind at the moment.  Should have it done for you early next week I think.

That happens for me on the work computer, but not on my laptop at home.  I think it's something to do with your browser settings.  Are you using Mozilla?
