Title: Aart's Armies march on!
Post by: Pijlie on 29 November 2014, 08:41:00 AM
As a friend of Aart Brouwer I received the request from his widow to find a good home for his (largely unpainted) armies. Most of them have by now found their way to wargamers across the country and to my great joy two friends within my wargames club were enthusiastic for the TYW and divided his TYW armies between them, adding to them with additional purchases. So last week I ended up playing my own 10mm TYW army (originally painted to play against Aart) with and against them in the battle of Fleurus. I thought some of you would like to know this, so I'd like to share this with you all here.

The Catholic troops were most unhistorically and soundly beaten, by the way.

Great that they've found such good homes and had justice done to them.

Thanks for the post, it's really nice to see Aart's figures taking to the field.  Like FK says above, I hope everyone has friends around who can look after their little men once they're gone.
