I have used Colour Party Paints and basetex for over 20 years.
Recently I have found that the Basetex now seems to be full of sawdust rather than sand and is awful.
I bought a pot of Gold at Vapnartak this year - so about 9 months ago, I opened it yesterday to find the entire pot was full of gold coloured dust. Tried adding water but the dust just floated on top. I then checked some other colour party paints that I have had for several years - no problems.
I can only think that they have changed the medium formula for the paint.
Has anyone else noticed these problems?
WHOOPS !!!
Just been on thier website - They do sell mettalic powders - must have been given this by mistake when I asked at the show. :-[

And there's me thinking that they've used the scales from
moths' wings, rather than flutterbys. 8-} 8-} 8-} ;)
I'll find my own coat....Thank you so
very much.

I add metallic powder to gold paint to get a better brassy-gold finish. Mine is a jar from Rose Miniatures which has lasted for over 40 years so far.
Thanks DP. But I think I have b*gg*rd the powder now anyway by putting water in it :(
Hopefully the water will evaporate leaving the powder nearly as good as new :)
Perhaps even shinier after the wash ;) ;D
