Title: Problems with Colour Party paints
Post by: Orcs on 20 November 2014, 10:52:13 AM
I have used Colour Party Paints and basetex for over 20 years.

Recently I have found that the Basetex now seems to be full of sawdust rather than sand and is awful.

I bought a pot of Gold at Vapnartak this year - so about 9 months ago, I opened it yesterday to find the entire pot was full of gold coloured dust. Tried adding water but the dust just floated on top. I then checked some other colour party paints that I have had for several years - no problems.

I can only think that they have changed the medium formula for the paint.

Has anyone else noticed these problems?

And there's me thinking that they've used the scales from moths' wings, rather than flutterbys. 8-} 8-} 8-} ;)
I'll find my own coat....Thank you so very much.

I add metallic powder to gold paint to get a better brassy-gold finish. Mine is a jar from Rose Miniatures which has lasted for over 40 years so far.

Thanks DP.  But I think I have b*gg*rd the powder now anyway by putting water in it  :(

Hopefully the water will evaporate leaving the powder nearly as good as new :)

Perhaps even shinier after the wash  ;) ;D
