Hello, I have been reading the posts on here for some time, thought I would join in. I am not a wargamer but like to paint historical figures.
Here are some LOA I've just based.
Cheers Al.
Those deserve to be fielded in action too. Don't grow giant garlic and then never eat it!
Welcome Al, very nice painting.

Enjoy your hobby your way ;)
Hi Al,
Excellent painting and basing.

:o Do you have a car you don't drive? A library of uncracked books? A Frustrated wife?
Welcome, Al.
Welcome, Al.
Very tasty painting, that man. 8)

Welcome on board Al. Some lovely painting on show and looking forward to more pics of your work in the future.
Welcome, very nice painting.
If your preference is to make little works of art, rather than push them round a table, then I shall be more than happy to view them.
Very nice painting and basing
Welcome to the forum
Lovely composition there, really sets off rather top painting. A great debut. Welcome.
A really fine debut - superb work! :D

Thanks for the kind words and welcome, nice to get some feedback other than the wife and the dog. Any tips on improving the photos and the painting would be handy, only took me 2 hours to work out how to reduce the file size so I could post the photo but it seems to lost some detail. Will be looking for some help on uniforms and hope to do some WSS and SYW stuff at some point.
Cheer Al.
Firstly, Hi Al, welcome to the forum.
Very nicely painted stuff, far better than I can manage!
On the photo's and losing detail. Post the photo's to an image sharing site of your choice and link to that and you can have much larger file sizes.
Great stuff.
Welcome aboard. Love to see more of your painting before you go totally blind. . . ;)
Now go throw some dice near them and you are a wargamer
Welcome to the Forum, and excellent painting! As others have said, the best option for photo's is to host them somewhere else, such as Photobucket/Flickr or even Facebook, and then link them from there. Give me a shout if you want any tips on doing that.

Thanks Leon and everyone else, I have set up a photobucket account it will probably take me sometime to work out how to link that to the forum. The only cutting and pasting I've done is wall papering the back bedroom :(.
Cheers Al
Photobucket is one of the easier ones, so once you've got your images uploaded, you just need the piece of code in one of the boxes underneath or to the right of the image. It's the one with the image tags, [ img]http://etc, etc. You should be able to click on this to copy it, and then it can be pasted into your Forum message. If there's any queries on it, let me know, and I can always edit your post if it goes squiffy.

Hi Al.
If a computer illiterate :-[, like yours truly, can use photobucket.....Anyone can ! ;)
Cheers - Phil (Who's at last managed to find the prog that was causing all the pop up ads, and delete the bloody thing. :) :) :).......For some reason it had stopped trying on the forum...But almost everywhere else..... X_X X_X X_X.)
Welcome to the Forum
Cheers

Hi
You are putting the end tags in. Opening tags are without the slash...
IanS
Thanks Ian, I really have no idea what I am doing. This could take some time :-\ .

Hi Al.
Assuming you've got your chosen photo in photobucket......Scroll down the little ladder underneath the pic to IMG......Left click to highlight it.....Then Right click.....and choose the 'copy' option.
When you get to your 'reply' on the forum...Right click where you'd usually be typing, and click paste.
When you preview your 'reply' the image should appear......Then we'll get to the 'How to make the image smaller', if necessary. ;)
Hope that helps....and it works !
Cheers - Phil.

able to give someone else a hand with something to do with a PC.
Again, Al.....Those are terrific !
Cheers - Phil
Welcome Ali657. Of course, you'll be entering the Painting Competition next year...
Phil - didn't know there were still PC's with the ABaCus op system still running ;)
IanS
They've been superseded by 'Stained glass' 1st Millennium now, Ian.
Fox machines are pretty good at transporting information as well.....especially as they tend to eat other peoples' messenger pigeons. ;)

These are better than my 15mm efforts! (btw, Hi, everyone! :-h).
Hi Westmarcher!
HI again, Westmarcher.
Cheers - Phil.

Oh cripes! Maybe not; too much Saxon violence on this forum.
Wasn't "Valley Forge" the name of one of the ships in Starship Trooper? (The book, not the films.)

Wasn't "Valley Forge" the name of one of the ships in Starship Trooper? (The book, not the films.)
"Valley Forge is the name of a succession of Starships .
The first Valley Forge was a ship present during the Invasion of Klendathu. It was destroyed during a collision with the Ypres in orbit over Klendathu whilst half its Mobile Infantry Troopers of Willie's Wildcats were still in its launch tubes.
After Operation Royalty, another ship was built that bore the name Valley Forge. This Starship was commissioned and stationed at Sanctuary along with the new Ypres after the Operation Bughouse. Juan Rico called it 'a large ship'." - starshiptroopers.wikia.com
Starship Troopers 'continued' the US tradition of naming carriers after major battles expanding it to include non-US battles to give it a more international feel, e.g. Ypres.
It also named the smaller vessels after 'heroic' individuals following US practise for Destroyers, e.g. Rodger Young and Magsaysay (Philippines hero and former president).
Neither is surprising given Heinlein's naval background.
A belated welcome from me too, Ali. (Not another master-painter to make my efforts look scruffy... mutter, mutter....) ;)
