Salutations to all!
I have recently started with some other gentlemen in Istanbul collecting troops for the Russo-Turkish War of 1877. As ksimet would have it, I shall be the Russians. We decided to go for 10mm and use Pendraken's excellent range.
You can find pics of my first Russians (URRAAAHHH!) here

We are using Black Powder to play the game, and it has also been my task to build the Army Lists for the war. The first version of these you can find here http://phdleadhead.blogspot.com.tr/p/rules-iii-russo-ottoman-war-of-1877.html (http://phdleadhead.blogspot.com.tr/p/rules-iii-russo-ottoman-war-of-1877.html) in html format and here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2fGZCt6fJeCUDRjNmVXOGNySk0/view?usp=sharing (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2fGZCt6fJeCUDRjNmVXOGNySk0/view?usp=sharing) in illustrated PDF.
A second version is under development. I must stress that they are geared more towards gaming and less towards simulation. Feel free to use them and tell me how it went and suggest changes.

Very nice work sir. 8)
Maybe some sand and PVA on bases to blend them in?
Welcome on barod and look forward to seeing how this develops. Nice to see one of the more neglected conflicts getting a run out :).
Welcome, KT.
Cheers - Phil
Welcome, Friend Travlos.
BP army lists? Didn't realise they did them. Must be a Shell game, a touch Essoteric for my tastes. Still, nice painting, a Gulf away from mine - Total success. Do I see a Chevron on an arm there? Did you paint that Exxon the flag?
Fueling puns - FSN
Thank you all
I should had said Black Powder, Opened up myself there did not I :P That said I am sure there is some BP and Chevron product somewhere there :p
I am not sure if I will flock them. There is not really that much space on the squares left for flocking and I of half a mind to follow the 1859/1866/1870 rule's writers convention which is not flocked bases.
Painted some hussars, but I want to wait to paint the second cavalry before putting on pictures. Also built two hills and a redoubt.

Even if you don't flock those bases need some texture and paint.
They look like 20mm squares which is what I use for my SYW Fossil Fuel Granule games too.
Definitely more than enough space to texture and flock: mine can be seen here:

Finished bases are a must. Poor painting on good bases looks much better than excellent painting on poor bases.
I see your point sirs. Well off to steal some playgrounds sand!
And sir, your painting is simply too much I must protest. It is unfair for one to have such skill! :D
Tell us about it! ;)
@FSN: I think your comments were lost in the fuel vapours; you must have been sniffing too much leaded petrol recently.
@KTravlos: I quite like the clean bases (very retro) - perhaps just clean them up with a coat of paint?
I like Yoda, do not I.
Here are some picture of Russian Hussars and Artillery with my attempt at flocking (using fine kush-kush)

Is that cus-cus?
Nice, looks pretty good!
That works well. :)
Update to my project. The first of two brigades for my division is done. Enjoy some pics

Looking great and nice basing too!
Yep, agree with Lemmey :D.
Looking very good. Liking the ground explosions.
:-bd =D> :-bd
The couscous certainly improves the bases :)
Thank you all!
Nice stuff, KT !!

Don't know which rules you are using, but Bloody Big Battles' European scenario book has four linked Russo-Turkish battles.
Thanks Dour Puritan. I am aware of the BBB set. Right now we are focused on Black Powder for divisional games (in which each player controls a division or division equivalent force, Battalion being the basic unit). I have enough toys to represent a corps if the basic unit become the regiment (I talk about scaling here http://phdleadhead.blogspot.com.tr/2014/11/understanding-scale.html (http://phdleadhead.blogspot.com.tr/2014/11/understanding-scale.html)), and 8 divisions if the basic unit becomes a brigade.
I am also interested in using BBB, but this will have to wait for some time. If the rules were available in PDF I would grab them NOW. But they are not, so I got to get paid, put the order in, and wait the 2-5 weeks it may take to arrive at my desk :( . I want to note that I think that Chris is doing a great job, creating great enthusiasm, and that I understand why he did not go the PDF route, but man, how do I wish he did :p. Well, patience is a virtue!
I used my Russians a-historically to run one of the mini-game scenarios from Neil Thomas: Wargaming 19th Century Europe 1815-1878, and also took the chance to review the system.
Here is some appetizer

and the main course can be found here

Enjoy!
Great to see a start being made through play testing. Your square bases will transfer nicely to BBB when you get round to it.
Very nice
I put my figurines to use as a proxy for Crimean War Russians in an ahistorical Crimean Black Powder game. You can find the battle report and a review fo Black Powder here
