Title: South American Pacific War Cavalry for WW1?
Post by: mollinary on 01 November 2014, 06:15:43 PM
Has anyone any thoughts about the possibility of using some of the lance armed cavalry in this range, the Guard Cuirassier Lancers and pickelhaube lancers, as early WW1 German Cuirassiers and Dragoons?   I like the look of the charging pose!

The new Cuirassier and Dragoon figures are very nice but only two poses, are you looking to add some variety or alternative figures?

I recently painted up some of the Dragoons http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,10195.msg133755.html#msg133755 (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,10195.msg133755.html#msg133755) and there are some of the Cuirassiers early in that thread.

I have some of SAP8, 9, 10 I will be using for my German Asiatic Cavalry for Palestine in 1917 and am very pleased with them

Thanks for the reply Paul.

Actually it was seeing your beautifully painted Dragoons that got me thinking. The upright lances on these figures (not so much on the other WW1 sculpts) reminded me of the old Minifigs "telegraph poles". I wondered whether lowered lances might look more effective, and then I saw the SAPW figures. Not sure I will actually take the plunge into the last century, but I like surfing the ranges looking for a bit more variety of figures, particularly for cavalry.

Cheers,
