Title: Painted 10mm Newline Mycenaeans
Post by: Bodvoc on 16 October 2014, 12:10:50 PM
Here goes for a couple of photo's of my 10mm Mycenaean's from Newline. These are based on 6cm bases for Impetus but also my own rules which are nothing more than a load of scribbled notes at the moment.

Bizarre, aren't they? Sort of caveman phalangites.

Pretty painting.

I like those a lot. Beautifully done.

For various reasons I haven't painted anything for about 6 weeks.

Once I get through the last few Pendraken models I need for our BKCII Eastern Front campaign I have a couple of 6mm Sumerian armies to paint. Now those might have a claim to be caveman phalangites FK.

Anyone who's been to Mycenae has to wonder how on earth they operated chariots. It must have been like skiing down white-water rapids - possible, but highly uncomfortable.  :-\

Agreed!  But what an atmospheric site - that Tiryns and Gla  are among the most amazing places I have ever visited.

Phaistos, on Crete, is definitely my favourite of all the archaeological sites I've visited and is of a similar vintage. The situation on the ridge-end overlooking the plains below is just breathtaking.

These are very, very nice.   Really like both the painting and basing.

Well done.

Yes, Phaistos is beautiful, but the thing about the mainland sites is the sheer scale of their fortifications, no wonder the walls are described as "Cyclopean".

Really nice miniatures! Any comparative pics with Magister Militium?

I am afraid I don't have any Magister Militum figures to compare them against, I can only say that the Newline ones seem a 'true' 10mm figure to me, compatible with Pendraken figures size wise although they don't do Biblical's (yet!).

Thank you Bodvoc, is a very important info for me. I hope Pendraked realise Biblical range soon.
