With a view to entering the painting competition 2015 I have finally managed to make a start on those Austrian chappies i bought nearly two years ago.... :-[
Slow progress (and I'm doubtful the whole army will be finished in time given i've added significant reinforcements recently and have another reinforcement order in the pipeline), however some progress even if small is better than none!
They have been an absolute delight to paint. I had heretically started on another 10mm manufacturers French to do battle with the Austrians, but the detail on Pendrakens range is far superior and far easier to pick out with my fading eyesight :)
I have almost finished an Advance Division of a Brigade of German Line, a battalion of Jagers, accompanying Grenzers and have just the Command and supporting cavalry to go before the Division will be complete.
Ive also started two more German Line Brigades and a Hungarian Line Brigade which will constitue the 1st Division. There are two further infantry divisions and artllery to tackle as well as supporting Dragoon, Hussar, Cuirassiers and Chevaux-Leger Brigades. Last but not least is a Grenadier Division. More than enough to be getting on with and more than enough to give me a wide range of variety when it comes to fielding a force to tackle the ubiquitous French Columns.
I tend to paint a whole army before before tackling basing so pics may take a while to appear but feeling pleased with my progress to date.
Keep up the good work. We'll watch this space.
Gosh, forward planning ... :o
Nice one Nosher, look forwards to seeing these.
You sound like you're a whole lot faster than me at painting the Hauptarmee :D
Advance guard.
Div Commander and 2x ADC, german Line, Grenzers and Dragoons
Very,very nice painting of those.
It's good to see someone else basing Grenzers in open order. I got a bit of a bruising on TMP by the close-order enthusiasts.
Grrr, I'm almost sold on a "really big tiny armies" venture to Nappies in 2mm, but that advance guard shot makes me want to consider the one true scale again! Lovely :)
Shouldn't have two sets of Grenzers though, in case you want them to fight formed ;)
Nice work Nosher!
In FoG Napoleonics Grenzers must fight in OO (at leats thats the case in the 1809 list as far as I can see)
Greetings
My current plan is for half my Grenzers formed and half in skirmish order - as there will be two battalions they can be used either complete or as half of each deployed as Skirmishers.
Regards
Edward

I think that's fair as every example of Grenzers in combat in 1809 that I'm aware of is either fighting in a BUA or bad going or skirmishing in the front line.
I guess when they're the skirmishers you've got then you want them skirmishing not pretending to be second rate line :D
Nice looking little force, Nosher. And, yes, I'd have the Croats skirmishing too.
Now started on the 1st Div.
A couple of battalion guns and a 3 gun 6pdr battery done.
2x36 figure German Line and 1x36 Hungarian Line started. Div Command and ADC's to start.
The perfect remedy to an on-time end of an early shift on the ambos which is a rare occurence indeed! ;)
Ohhh...
Look forward to seeing those Nosher.
Nicely done, Nosher, mate 8)
Note to self: he's finally started painting his, no excuse for you now, Harwood...

Major progress on the 1st Div tonight. Only the faces, hands and weapons and some detail on the command stands of all three battalions to do, then it will be onto Div command and ADC's.
Not long now until the 1st Div will be finished. :)
Well done that man =D> =D>
1st Div now complete including command. Waiting on some paint to do the gun carriages.
Taking a break from the Austrians to catch up with Les Grognards
Impressive.
Reinforcements have arrived....
3 units of Landwehr, 2 units of German Line, 2 units of Hussars, 1 unit of Uhlans, 1 unit of Dragoons, 1 unit of Grenzers.
Oh and a brigade Commander for my German Grenadier Division!
All trimmed up ready for basing ;)
Any pics of your prodigous output?
Pardon? Isn't that what MPs do?
You have been very busy, haven't you Nosher :)
Finished the guns (3 medium and 2 battalion guns) this afternoon
More pics on Blog here http://nosherswargames.blogspot.co.uk/

Me and my fat fingers..... :-[
Austrian Reinforcements.
Two German Line Regiments, Three Ladwehr Regiments, Two Hussar Squadrons, a Squadron of Uhlans, a Squadron of Dragoons, a Regiment of Grenzers, a Brigade Commander for the Gernadier Division..... oh and a Uhlan Cavalry attachment
That's cracking :)
The general looks really good at a bit of range, but weirdly up close he looks like you've painted his skeleton rather than picked out the bits of his coat! That's not a criticism (the internet being a blunt medium and all...), 'cos he looks superb on the "not as big as a 28mm figure close up", and it's a technique I use myself :D
I am so tempted by 10mm Nappies after seeing these, but have so much on the go and so little cash and time :/
Nice one, Nosher. 8)
Very nice Nosher! 8)
:-bd =D> :-bd =D>
Nicely done 8)
Next up the Reserve Cavalry Division of Cuirassiers.
Reserve Curassier Division Complete ;)
The 2nd Division (and final Division of the Corps) will be next up for the Hauptarmee, but it's now back to the Grognards to start on the final infantry division which I'm hoping to start at the weekend.
Blimey Nosher! Your turning them out at the moment!
:D
Well done Nosher, great progress :)
Made a start on the 'final' Austrian Division this morning. Two line units an artillery battery and Div command/ADC's.
Gurk! Wow.
Cracking work so far and look forward to seeing them all finished and based up 8).
I get the impression the painting log-jam is well and truly broken. :-bd
Hauptarmee complete.... ish >:(
Just realised I am a Divisional Commander short >:( >:( >:(
I will need another bag of Austrian Officers and ADC's
Basing complete.
I would be adding flags tommorow but the feckin printers packed up..... :(
Resolved the printer issue and then my internet went down....
Now resolved - photos on my blog

Well done that man =D>
Superb
very nice indeed

andy
They have their first outing today ;)
The Cuirassiers have already smashed through a Chasseur Brigade and are threatening the French line of command.
The infantry are finding the going somewhat tougher and are faltering in front of the French guns.
Either way one set of your new figures is going to win :D
Need some pics, Nosher. :)

Back to the Grognards for a while to balance the defecit!!
Wow!
Basing and Flags done on the Grenadier Division, the Landwehr Division and the cavalry attachments

And very nice too. 8)
Whilst awaiting SCW Reinforcements i have started an Hussar Brigade.
Massed ranks of well painted infantry...ahh :)
Cracking job :-bd
Belatedly catching up with this thread - very good indeed, Nosher! The speed with which you 'mobilised' this lot is bound to catch the attention of the Hofkriegsrat!
A wee question. I note that the Naps range drummers don't have cords on the drums (but other ranges do - e.g., SYW and ACW) - yet your Landwehr drummer does (or appears to at any rate). Does the sculpt include these or did you add them in some way or another?
Sweet indeed, the landwehr look brilliant en mase, that the way to do it!!

Unfortunately, no, just the same basic sculpt as the others. You can see a close-up here if you click on [more] and then [more] again:

First unit of Hussars completed. Second of six stands WIP.
Not quite as colourful as their French brethren but sublime miniatures indeed :)
A wee bit more progress made on the second unit of Hussars. Hoping to have these done by next week so I can tackle some more austrian line and grenzers.
Nice looking chaps.
