Title: Question about trenches
Post by: Ironduke on 20 September 2014, 03:33:37 PM
Which would you prefer, realistic trenches or trenches you can get a base of infantry in? Thanks guys

I'd go for ones you could get a base in otherwise it would look naff. That is unless you are using 40mm deep bases in which case you're knackered.

Something that will take the figures.

Make your trenches in two parts (back and front) so that you can adjust to fit. If you're going to do sub-surface trenches, i.e. realistic trenches, then I'd make sure your bases fit.

Bases have to fit

Agreed, bases have to fit. With figures standing in the trench the effect is the same as standing on a fire step anyway without the bother.

Michael,

That is an excellent blog and a lovely looking trench !   I've just
read though the whole blog - full marks in particular for the
conversion work and exceptional modelling.   Both this and the
1809 blog are very professionally produced and look superb.
The only suggestion / request would be to slightly increase the
size of the window / font if possible.

Well done.

Apologies for diverting the thread !!

Phil
