As my rate of painting and posting has speeded up of late I've decided to post my efforts in one place, on the painting and modelling thread. First up is two shots of my newly completed Prussian 5th Cuirassier (SYW and also Old Glory):

Tasty!
Cool work DP 8)
Very nice. I especially like the way you've folded the guidon. The tufty bases look good as well.

If it is anything like Old Glory's offerings for earlier wars (ECW/WSS) the standard is moulded that way! :D

No, it came with a bare pole and the standard was made, painted and folded by me.

Nice piece of work, that man.
Very nice indeed

Have to admit, they paint up very well. Very nicely done, DP. 8)
Now working on Pendraken 3rd Dragoons. They do look pretty in pink!
I never knew Pendraken commanded the 3rd Dragoons. Or should it be von Pendraken :D
In the SYW they would have been known as the Meinicke Dragoons. Likewise their heavier cousins would have been the Markgraf Freidrich Cuirassiers.
Thanks for that; it will give them more of a ring in an imagi-nations campaign.
Very nice 8)
Finally got the Prussian 3rd Dragoons from the SYW completed, along with Frederick and two further command stands. Now working on some 15mm WWI German Jagers.

Nice
Love the generals discussing strategy whilst the wounded look on :D
Well......you don't want to live forever do you?
Very nice work DP! And love the Dragoon flag. :D

Very nice indeed, do you intend to leave them gloss?
That flag is impressive, is it cast or did you add it?
Looking good, DP !
Cheers - Phil
Nice and the Generals chatting, oblivious to the wounded man is a great touch.
I really like the command base, when three raiders talk friendly each other (one even shake his hat, maybe as a salute), meanwhile a nearly to death soldier in the mud try to ask for help and is ignore by the three radiers... great ... when a figure base tells you a history it is certanly well done!

In response to the above:
a) The figures look glossier in the photo than in reality because they are under a spotlight and photographed close up. I am not a great fan of the dead flat look as in most of the artificially lit places I game the colours of the figures tend to become very subdued when matt varnish is used.
b) The flag is cast and is based on the information in the old Greenwood and Ball booklet on the Prussian army of the SYW, which I picked up from Dave Ryan of Caliver. Fortunately I was also able to get the Austrian booklet as well.
c) The command diorama of the wounded soldier was inspired by a plate in the Osprey book on the battle of Kolin, showing Frederick passing a couple of wounded soldiers after the battle. The wounded figure is actually a Hessian from the AWI range.
First batch of ITLSU 1914 jagers in 15mm:

[imghttp://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/dourpuritan/15mm%20ITLSU/IMG_1371_zpsf0a6488a.jpg[[/img]http://Figures are Peter Pig and the nfirst picture shows some headswaps using jager heads from the heads and odds range. The next photo shows my rejuvenated painting stand - my son asked why I had stopped using it when it gave me a 360 degree ability to get at the figures. Sometimes youngsters speak a great deal of sense.

Figures are temporarily mounted on dowel using Copydex. Each figure can then be lifted out and rotated for painting.

Excellent stuff, DP.
Good photo's too.

Nice idea!

I like the painting stand, interesting mix of projects on the go ;)
Tell me about it Paul; spent this evening sticking old, painted 6mm FPW 30mm wide bases onto 30mm squares in anticipation of Bloody Big Battles. Have been informed they are in the post.
Although 6mm BBB is commanding a lot of my attention at present I am still squeezing in 10mm additions. The latest to be completed are the two remaining command stands for my SYW Prussian army; one is a cavalry command and the other is infantry.

Nice looking chaps! A well turned calf in tight breeches sets the ladies trembling!
Very nice indeed !

Nice work, DP. :-bd
Really nice painting DP, what figs did you use for the SYW command stands.
kev
Very nice
Kev, the first picture is von Zieten, the hussar cavalry commander, and an Old Glory cuirassier, the second picture is the Saltyakov figure painted up as a Prussian, with one of the Prussian field officers.
Here's Saltyakov in his correct guise awaiting the painting of my Russian army.

He's a patient chap then, given the date on that picture ;) ;D
Some nice looking SYW there.
Looking good
Take care

Patience is a virtue, and anyway I still need to produce some Prussian cavalry and some more grenadiers, light infantry and garrison jnfantry. At least the Austrians are complete. For the last battle not all of them made it out of the box. Then of course there is also Wargamers' Butterfly Syndrome!
