Just noticed my rank pip has changed, no longer Lieutenant General but straight General! :o
Not even General Dogsbody or General Incompetence! :D
Cancel the job interviews! Drinks all round! 8)
Mine's a Bloody Mary! ;)
We didn't tell you in case you got all uppity and started throwing things at the peasants... :D You'll be on your own in the General's quarters for a while, until Lt Gen Techno and Lt Gen Harwood get new hamsters and interwebs respectively.
8)
Sounds eminently reasonable! ;D
Great, I can decorate before they get here?
Although the scheme you left isn't too bad, I can live with it until the others move in.
Do you want the Xbox back? ;)

Knock yourself out, just don't take out anything load-bearing... The Xbox can stay, I've not touched it in weeks. :(
:D
Do you think that's how real generals get made? "OK Hannibal, you've sent 2,678 messages, you get to go over the Pyrenees on an elephant."
"Message 2,679. Please may I stay in Carthage? :("
Just lay off the migrain-inducing tartan paint, Lemmy. You know what the doctor said last time.
Nicely done, Will, nicely done :)
In terms of new interwebs, I think I'm making an advance in the cut-the-trees-down-yes-all-20-of-them-I-don't-care-if-they-are-80-feet-tall battle...got the right man coming to take a look on Thursday night...

Just found out that there's an outside chance that BT might actually service a rural landscape in the near future....just need to figure out whether their near future tallies with my desire to not have to pay a stupid amount of money to have some big trees taken out...hmm...
Sorry Nik, but just turned my TV on to discover that BT are spending all their money on making what they already have 'better.' Consequently all my info is now in a different (and prettier) font.
CCP, who run the EVE Online MMORPG, have a definition of "soon" you might find useful in this context Nik.
Soon(tm) - a period up to but not including the next Ice Age

No - but the goats do find it useful.

Not to mention the horses, dogs, cats & kids...
But will the Exmouth Donkey Sanctuary need it? Plus, when can I receive Brevet Field Marshal?
Shortly after your execution for desertion.

Which one do you want? And won't he upset the donkeys?
Can I become Brigadier a Cheval General of the 3rd Exmouth Donkey Dragoons? How many posts will that take?
Living in Exmouth I think you're more likely to be offered General at Sea. (Or possibly General all at Sea).
Better make it Admiral or Commodore ... can the Forum provide Naval Ranks?
No just Navel ones....oh Sailor

I think that the above definition probably fits with the said service providers definition of soon. However, i was told a year or so ago that there "were no plans to upgrade my village to BT Infinity". It has now arrived.
So actually all times scales by them are more likely decided by looking at a goats entrails. :)
A former 1st Sea Lord was on Radio 4 (I can't find which one). He was rather chuffed to find that the Japanese translated his title on a visit to "Shogun of the Sea".
He said that the Chief of the General Staff moaned that 1st Sea Lord is such a good title, and better than his. The Admiral pointed out that "You could hardly be called the 1st Landlord..."
I became a brigadier at some point too
Congrats for that, Maeno. :)
Congratulations Maenoferran.

Now I am a Brigadier I shall most certainly have to strive to be further up the chain of command by talking bollox at the earliest opprotunity
What exactly are you suggesting, Maenoferran?
Lt. Gen. Hertzblau von Helzapoppin.
Permission to speak freely sir?
I suspect you're going to anyway. :P
Congrats to those promotions I've missed !

The one thing my father, the general, always said..."Get it down in writing my boy, get it down in writing." On and why have you been sent all of these white feathers?"
It was all a mistake I tell you. A Wyandotte chicken just happened to wander into a revolving fan. Feathers everywhere. :D

Missing commas, missing apostrophe, 'nutha missing comma, fused participle - you need all the help you can get.
If "Nobby" sticks ... well, apply your own punchline.
Now that I have been outed, I think my options are:
a) Resign my commission
b) Move
c) Withdraw to the dining room with a revolver.
Well I won't give up and be forced to buy from other manufacturers when the Napoleonics British are so close, I can't move because of the tag and I hate films made by Guy Ritchie.
No Sir, Nobby is going to stick it out!

Sir! You misread the situation outrageously. I was withdrawing from the dining room to the second, no, the third dining room. It's a family tradition that we keep the revolvers there along with a pad of proforma notes. Obviously I would not use the study for fear of upsetting the hamster.

I'm not sure I'd have come out as a Khalua-drinker, Matt. :-$ :-$ :-$
I used to enjoy a good black russian <<insert your own joke here>> - the proper sort with Khalua. But far too many of them at a graduation ball rather stopped that infatuation.
