Not sure how many of you frequent TMP but I found this listed there...Can only find 1914 on it at the moment but there are some nice maps

Thanks, bookmarked that one.
Good find, Fenton.
From a quick glance this looks to be very useful indeed. Will check in more detail later.
Excellent stuff. Bookmarked.
There was a complete copy of the WW I and WW II series of official books in Brum Reference Library. Spent many a happy hour trawling through them. I remember thinking how good they would be on my bookshelf...that was until I found out they cost £33 each! Lottery win required! There was also the official French series of the same period (in French, naturally) which was very good. My French is limited to what I can remember from school but I managed to get by...I mean Infantry Regiment is the same as Regiment d'Infanterie a pied isn't it?
Something like that although infantryman is sometimes rendered as fantassin.

Aha, I see you are as fluent in foreign as I am. :D
The thing is, if you have copies of the Funcken books in French you can work out most military stuff from the descriptions and pictures in them.
So true. I have volume II of The Age of Chivalry. Fortunately my Lace Wars volumes are in English.
I would love the French Revolution work but at. £100, it's out of reach. :(
Might try and sell my Lace Wars to generate some funds.

There used to be a website with a lot of the Revolution plates on it, but its since gone. Nice plates, but there was little coverage of states other than France.
