Hi, I am a born again wargamer, originally getting into it back when Don Featherstone and Charles Grant et al published their books. I am trying now to limit myself to a couple of periods, WW2 skirmish level games and ACW in 10mm, just ordered my first figures. :)
Sid
Welcome to the scale and the forum Sid.
Hope you enjoy both :)
Give in at this stage and order some figures for the Ashanti wars, the War of the Polish Succession, the Albigensian crusade, the Dacian wars, and the Shang conquest of central China. It'll come to the same thing in the end.
Welcome and enjoy. The 10mm ACW range is remarkable.
A very warm welcome, Sid.
As 'M' says.....Hope you enjoy both ! :)
Cheers - Phil
Welcome and enjoy! :D
Hi Sid, welcome to the Forum!
8)
Welcome to the forum Mr Kent.
"Limit" is not a word we recognise around here. I think you're seriously under-represented in the pre-gunpowder ages. I might also point out the attractions of the post 1945 ranges. The Vietnam is quite lovely, with the Australians being well represented (with armour support). There's also sufficient for, say, the Suez Crisis, early Arab Israeli wars and perhaps, with a bit of imagination, the Korean War.
Welcome to the forum.
I am glad you used the phrase 'trying to limit'. I am fascinated by one period, interested in about 3 or 4 others, and have a passing interest in a lot more and after 40+ years of wargaming, I am still trying to limit myself. So good luck with that one. :)
(Pssst. Shall we open a book on what Sid will do next?)
Yes, Welcome to the madness! :)
Welcome, I'm sure you will find the figures pleasing and the forum interesting ;)
Hi Sid,
let me add to the chorus of welcomes!
I find no problem limiting my wargaming periods.
I game in only two periods.
Pre-1953 and post-1952 :)

Shocking omission of two rich and colourful years! Remedy this at once!

FK, you may want to carefully reread Ithoriel's post. I detect no omission ;)
Quite right. I was just trying to worry him a bit.
(rapid face-saving manouevre)

I am sorry but the above phrase is unintelligible to me!. :)
Welcome Sid,
Sounds worrying - suicide risk, would you think, Orcs?
Definitely someone who needs to experience the butterfly effect.

More likly he needs a straight jacket and some nice people with white coats to care for him till the madness passes ;D.
When he starts saying things like " I just starting to paint 2000 ACW figures, I have an order in for a carthaginians and what rules do you suggest I use for 17th Century Polish. " we will no its safe to let him loose again ;D
Welcome, Sid. If you think you've just met the Lunatic Fringe let me warn you - they have not yet begun to gibber. They are, however, correct on one point. No-one has yet managed to limit themselves to a couple of wargaming armies. Resistance is futile!
Now where did I put that 7 of 9 figure ready to paint up. Inspiration to be found on the Top SF Totty thread.

It means :-
5. To absorb into the prevailing culture.
There is na certain part of me that I would like to be absorbed into a certain part of her "Culture"

Now I think it's both "assimilate"
and "culture" you're misunderstanding ;D

I am not rising to the bait (for once) - You KNOW what I mean :D
Hi, 10mm is a great way to go.
I'm still struggling with the concept of limiting. If you buy a box of chocolates, there may be a couple you don't like - the "LoA hard centre", or the "Mongol salted caramel filling-puller", but you don't just gorge yourself on the "Centurion delight" exclusively. Why shun the variety that the Pendraken Reasonably Priced Selection has to offer?
I like to think that we (the holes in the Pendraken string vest) are mentally quite agile, but I must confess I'm still don't understand. "Limiting" - it's just so ... limiting.
Dried frog pill anyone?!? :o
There you go, Sid. Spittle and froth everywhere and not a sign of a braincell between them. Grab a straightjacket from the cupboard. :D :D :D
It's self service at the moment, Techno is incapacitated...
Welcome

Yep, pretty much 8) Welcome, Sid :)
