Title: Best proxy for 1930s Burma Rifles
Post by: GrumpyOldMan on 06 August 2014, 03:11:30 AM
Hello All

Yes, another strange request, looking for the best proxy for 1930s Burma Rifles:-

A recruiting poster from the 30s.

I was thinking about using the WW1 Middle East Australians (any photos anybody, can only find the Light Horse on the interweb) but wondered if there were anything else that could be used. Would the KAR figures be a better fit?

Cheers

Probably the WW1 Anzacs in code AN1?  They're in shorts and bush hats.

They are in shirt sleeve order though. If the Burma Rifles fought like that then they would do perfectly well.

Hello Leon and Dour Puritan

Thanks for the replies, shirtsleeve order should be ok, the below pic from 1941 shows shirtsleeves:-

I found a post of the forum that shows most of the Australian figures http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,8511.msg92920.html#msg92920 (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,8511.msg92920.html#msg92920), I'm assuming that the figures G, H and I are the ME2 figures and that M and N are the AN1 figures.

Cheers
