Just posted a couple of pictures of the start of my War of Spanish Succession Imperialist army. Hopefully I can stay on track and get some more done within the next few weeks.

They look splendid.

Excellent. Nice big juicy units - that's what 10 mils are all about.
Thanks for the kind words all, hopefully I will have more shortly.
A good start and I agree with what Hertsblue said about size.
Added a few more photos. The force keeps growing very slowly. The figures are a real joy to paint and I am just sorry I can't do them justice with my slap on color approach.

Those work well.
Looking really good. I also use one of those faux fur throws and while the weather has been fine I've slung it over the washing line and given it random sprays of darker green and a light sandy brown to break up the light green uniformity green uniformity. C18th Austrian armies do look brilliant en masse. Now working on my Prussians for SYW.

From playing distance they look fine, and that's all that matters. :-bd
One of the main advantages of 10mm is the ability to produce large units in order to give the impression of a large battle taking place. Another advantage is that this can be achieved without recourse to hyper-detailed uniforms. You have the right approach to getting those units on the table, and believe me they look really effective.
Nicely done 8)

They look fine - you *could* take 'em quickly to the next level with a simple wash: it would add immediate depth & lift...and takes no time at all :)
If you do then make sure it settles only in the creases when doing units like Austrians and French.
Thanks all, yes i have been experimenting with giving the figures washes. The new unit I painted was done with a wash and while I am still working on the technique I think they look good. Hopefully I can get everything photographed in a few weeks.
Thanks for sharing. All the best with your WSS project.
You *could* also have your flags flapping a bit. I bend them round a paint brush handle as I glue them on. Adds a sense of movement.
A couple of examples here http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,8883.msg122656.html#msg122656 (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,8883.msg122656.html#msg122656)
Thanks for the advice on the flags. I do tend to bend them must have forgot when putting these on. Really nice looking figures!!!

Your welcome, a bugger when that happens. Thanks for the kind words, the wash really helps add depth :)
