Gentlemen and ladies of the Forum.
Today is a sad day for me. I placed my first order for Pendraken Miniatures in July 2012, and since then, I've permanently had an order in play with Pendraken.
I have decided that this is no longer feasible. There are a number of reasons for this.
1. Pendraken have cut their delivery time from 21/22 days to about 8 minutes after you send the order. This is due to:
a) Pendraken casting dwarves have been flogged into increased productivity
b) The Dark Lord is now attuned to my mind and I buy what he desires I buy
c) I've become predictable
2. A nice lady from the Ordnance Survey phoned to ask if my lead mountain should be included on the next Landranger 108.
3. I've had a bad time with the old trouble and so my painting time recently has been the square root of a gnats IQ.
4. Until the British Napoleonics range comes out, I seem have just about fulfilled my needs as defined by the Plan v8.2.
So there you are. A sad time for me.
My deepest sympathies :( ;).
In my experience, it's time to get painting fsn, before the next "ooh shiny!" moment hits.
No painting for me for months due to planning a new kitchen, getting it installed, working out how to fit everything back in, planning a revamp of the bathroom and .... finding I can't afford it :(
Normal wargaming service will resume shortly!
I feel your pain...a bit. But as they say, life goes on so man up, give the infamous two fingered salute to the OS and get painting! :D
Time and tide old friend.
As the tide changes and the days shorten you, the pastrami in the Pendraken bagel, will find yourself drawn to the brushes, to whit, you will then find you are missing an artillery base, or an infantry command, or an armour sandwich box for a North Korean Colonel.
After an evening searching the ranges, not only will thou hast secured said item, but a whole new opponent and range you have never considered, plus a full dining service for said colonel, and a cruet set too.
Have faith in The Dark Lord my friend, have faith...
One day you too will be retired and the painting opportunities beckon. Today I have been mostly basing.
Part of my problem is my butterfly mind. I like to compare myself to Leonardo da Vinci, not because I can draw, design, experiment or do any of the other things the great man is renown for (I can't even be a vegetarian - bacon butties) but because of my apparent inability to finish anything. Part of my decision was because I found a dozen French WWII vehicles that I had got as far as base coating then apparently forgotten. My mind is drawn by the next thing, and (if I may change insect) like a bee I flit from flower to flower supping that sweet, sweet nectar.
This year so far it's been WWII, WWI (didn't get past the planning stage), Napoleonics (waiting for Pendraken), Anglo-Scots Wars, SF Mash Up, Ancients, back to Anglo-Scots Wars, SF Mash up again, and has settled on Marlburian. My current project is based on the Blessed grant's model of big battalions (Hinton Hunt figures, all marching) and fictitious countries. I'm looking at 72 man battalions from the North Counties and the Easterland. wearing pale blue and green respectively.
Now as long as something pretty doesn't come along, like say, the Pendraken Napoleonics or Ancient Greeks ...
Man up! Your a wargamer. I have learned to live with my butterfly, eg. this year so far: 10mm FPW, APW, WWI, SYW, 15mm ACW, WOR, 28mm Italian Wars.
The answer, for those of us with the attention-span of a headless slug, is to begin several projects and then flit from one to the other. Eventually, you will find yourself in a state of grace wherein you can say to yourself "it's Thursday, therefore it must be Lower Rhine goblin-fanciers". @-) @-) @-)

How on earth did you manage to stay focused on Centurions for so long? ;)
There are about 35 different versions Russ......

Ah, that explains it ;D
.....and they have lovely firm pecs and abs from all those years of training.
Even my butterfly mind flits back to the same flower regularly.

On the upside. I have sort of finished my British.
They were originally bought for PBI years ago. Now I play a lot of IABSM. However I didn't have all the stuff because it was a PBI army. I've regularly had to use Russians as Big Men. Finally got round to buying PIATS, 2" mortars, and officers. Need to base the mortars, and varnish, but actually got a full Company now - everything else is just chrome. (I do have 4 Churchills)
Problem is I ORIGINALLY bought 1/200 for Rapid Fire in 2001. The Infantry have been pressed into service next to the Pendraken, but the tanks and halftracks are on the small side! I need to sell the small stuff and throw money at Dave and Leon.

I wondered why they were dressed like ice-hockey goalies. :D
I've got a load of 1/200th stuff too. Nice tanks, crap infantry.
I think the Infantry are probably accurate, and Pendraken, if full size, would be fat, but they look so skinny- prefer the Pendraken ones.
Butterfly mind, is that what I have, thank The Lord I am no longer suffering alone, are there any support groups?
on my painting table tonight i have been painting 10mm awi cav acw limbers napoleonic infantry 28mm french guard oh and i based up some trees
