Just learnt that most of my chestnuts are in fact bays. What a useful article. Many thanks.

Same here - I'd always thought chestnuts were rich brown with black manes and tails, and lots of socks and blazes.

I'm going to have to stop painting so many duns and roans - apparently they aren't that common. :(
