Title: Great War Diaries
Post by: Leman on 02 August 2014, 08:28:35 PM
Anyone else catch this on BBC2 this evening? I enjoyed its approach and my son (noted pacifist and doesn't understand dad's hobby) found it absolutely gripping. The combination of contemporary film footage and dramatic reconstruction, combined with readings from the diaries across the whole of Europe, was extremely well executed. It included two children I had been reading about in Max Hastings' 1914. Highly recommended.

No !.....Dammit !
I didn't even check to see what was on last night.
Caught a prog on the Falkland's War a couple of nights ago. Thought that was very good.

Techno, don't forget the BBC iPlayer. There are two more episodes coming up over the next two Saturdays.

Sadly....Things like the iplayer are out of bounds until I get a faster PC....Even short videos take SO long to play !  :'(
I'll get there in the end !  ;)
