Hi Everyone
As a designer of armoured vehicles for Dave and Leon I wanted to let you know that any delays with certain vehicles going into production will not be there fault as, It is the Wood worms who are to blame if I had not been up my loft prepping for spraying for woodworm I would not have slipped hit my abdomen on a cross beam and thought nothing more of it, Until the next day I started p****g blood? This is not right!!! So after the doctors said phone the ambulance and the ambulance said phone the doctors etc
Part 2
So in A&E after a couple of blood test a CT scan and X-ray they tell me what's wrong a 10cm Cancerous growth on my right Kidney. I think it ok I have. Two!! They then transferred to another hospital more test and scans they are going to remove my right Kidney on the 23rd July so as you can appreciated it is the WOODWORMS fault not Dave and Leon
Part 3 the vote
So in order to aid my recovery you can vote for the following vehicles the one with the highest vote gets done first :-\
1: M11/39 (Italian ww2)
2: Humber MK III (British ww2)
3: Conqueror (British cold war)
4: Saracen apc (British cold war)
5 Saladin Armoured car(British cold war)
6 Centurion Bridge layer and Arv2 counts as 1 as it is a conversion
But at the end of it thank F*** for Woodworm and a Nagging wife or I would not know I had Cancer
Martin (aka Mart678) :-\
Chuckle - I read it as "wormwood" and assumed you'd been hitting the absinthe!
As I've already said, Mart.....
The very best wishes and best of luck, from pair of us at Techno Towers.
You take great care Matey.....We'll all be thinking of you.
It's one of those occasions when I don't know quite what to say.
Again.....VERY best wishes - Phil.
If they found a growth, you should be THANKING the woodworm for getting it diagnosed. And how do you thank them? Agonising death by poison...
No gratitude, some people... :(
And I want a Conqueror! :D
Even the humble woodworm has its place in the grand scheme of things.
Glad you found out early.
Best wishes for a complete recovery and tell your missus to keep nagging if this is what happens. (Mine does so you are not alone).
MickS
First off hope it all goes well for you.
Second, the Italian 11/39 gets my vote.
Bloody hell, that's heck of a way to get a quick diagnosis :S
Good luck and fingers crossed for swift action, resolution and recovery!
Ouch !
Take care of yourself !
( if you - really - want a vote, I'd say anything for WW2 is ok for me) but recover before, sir !
Good luck on the 23rd Martin, and take it easy as well. My vote would be for the Humber if possible, then we can release both that and the LRC at the same time!
8)
All the very best of luck on the 23rd.
Graham
That said I'm not sure it's really an acceptable reason for not finishing the M11/39 first! :d
Wow, sh*t!
Hope all goes well, the woodworm were on your side!
Speedy recovery.
I'll vote for a Saladin, but only if you feel up to it.
Good luck. Perhaps the woodworm were some deity working in a mysterious way? Hope all goes well.
With a list including the Centurion, what can I say? But after that, the Humber III.
Reviewing the answers, I think we can say
a) everyone wishes you well, and a speedy recovery
b) choice of "what next" is equally spread between all options. Well who'd have thunk it?
All the very best and hope you'll be 100% before too long.
All the best, and get well soon. I'll be thinking of you. Odd, isn't it, the way unexpected things can turn out to be gifts in disguise? And on Armoured vehicles? It just has to be the M11/39 - you just have to admire the Italians who went to war in those things!
Mollinary
Since none of the proposals are for things I'm after I can say, "sod the models, just get better!"
All the best!
Hope all goes well for the 23rd and for the recovery.
Not sure sitting around recovering is a reason for a delay - thay have nice tables that fit over your bed in hospital - you could work on that ;D
Seriously all the best Mart
I have no preference of vehicle as I do not need any of the options, BUT just to wind up FSN I would like to put a negative vote on anything Centurion related. :d :d
I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery!
If their was anything good to say about woodworms this is it, all the best Mart, hope your back to full strength soon.
kev
Mending fast, I hope. Altruistically and philanthropically.
All the best for 23rd and recovery
If you re planning to work on it between now & 23rd my vote goes to the one you would enjoy doing most
Saladin would be nice. In the interim avoid the boredom and get better.

A portrait figure? It's easy enough to paint up any medieval Turkic heavy cavalryman for him. There aren't that many iconic Napoleon-like pictures of big Yussuf, surely?
All the best Mart for a speedy recovery.
Matt
Get well soon.

You can go off people you know. :P
Indeed, you can go off people you know you know, you know? (It does make sense).
Are you trying to get 'there' today, FK ?
You can reply to that, and cross another one off. ;)
Cheers - Phil
Curses, my fiendish plot is revealed! Foiled again!
Just wanted to add my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Cheers Paul
Wow Mart that is a shock. :o Do look after yourself and I wish you a speedy recovery. :)
If you really need a vote I will vote for the Conquerer. This will be the only model of this tank ever made commercially so do it quickly before somewone changes their mind and insists we have another version of a Sherman or yet another Tiger remake. :D
All the best, Rob :) :)
Hope it all goes well. Look after the second one!
M11/39 for me.
I would just like to say THANKS EVERYONE FOR CHEERING ME UP WITH YOUR COMMENTS I WISH ALL OF YOU A GREAT YEAR YOU ALL DESERVE IT THANKS :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
My wife Alison is really impressed by your messages of support as I am and just for WULF I have left a block of wood up the loft a sort of Noah's Arch for the wood worm :D :D
I will keep you all up to date but at the moment it seems they have caught it early will still lose my Kidney but I have a spare LOL ;D ;D
Martin
Mart - terrible news. But good to hear they have found it early.
Are they hoping that whipping the kidney out will be all, or will chemo and or radiotherapy be needed too?
Here's wishing you (and your wife) the best.
Keep positive - don't let it beat you - you have to know that you will be good at the end of it.
Holy sh*t Mart, good luck with the op, hope you have a good convalescence and speedy recovery from it. My father in law had a similar run a few months back, his brother died of colon cancer, so he got himself checked out (no symptoms, thought it best to though). He had to have a foot-long piece of his intestine removed the next day.
I'm going to vote for whatever you want to do, whenever you feel ok enough to do so.
I've just been having a chat with Mart.
All being well, and there being a bed 'spare', Mart will go in tomorrow.....Have the op on Wednesday.....And then spend three days in the Intensive Care Unit.
One thing that may cause 'slight complications' is, because of the size of the kidney, it's possible it may have attached itself to his intestine.....So a short section of that may have to come out.
Basically, they won't know until they operate. (They're going to be making a much bigger hole in the poor chap than I'd imagined !)
He's had umpteen checks on other parts of his body.....and (touch wood) there isn't any sign of the cancer having spread anywhere else.
Mart's as 'chipper' as anything.......But will naturally be delighted when it's all over.
Mrs Mart is going to update "as soon as".
GOOD LUCK & VERY BEST WISHES MART.
Cheers - Phil
Good Luck Martin.
Good luck from here as well! Not that you'll need it am sure :)
Yep, all the best for this Mart.
Best wishes for the op and a speedy recovery
Good luck Mart!
Belated good wishes from me too. Hope it all goes well.
Not sure how I missed this at the time
Good luck Mart , hope everything goes well
And all the best from me too!
Albeit beIated-I really should drop in more often...
Matt - don't worry, surgeons only bury their failures......luck with it.
