Title: FOW ww1
Post by: raykey on 29 June 2014, 07:45:48 PM
I see on the Flames of War site that they are releasing their WW1 rules free in Augusts wargames illustrated and if you log on to their site it gives you two 1500pt army lists. HMMM do I spend countless hours picking my 10mm WW1 off their bases to rebase a'la FOW, cos I don't I just have a reason to buy more HAHAHAHA! No seriously folks They are asking £65 for one army in 15mm and as I already have the tanks I could probably do the rest for just over £20 for both armies in 10mm, worth a look as the original rules have been free on the web for a while.

I'd make sure there's any reason to re-base before actually doing it. As a general rule, the closer you get to modern times the less important base sizes become. As long as both sides have the same basing you can usually get away with it. We fight FoW WW2 with 10mm, using 30 x 20 mm infantry bases, without any problems. And we don't base the tanks at all.

I am thinking along the same lines.  Just bought WI 322 with the rules updates and basic lists.

Do you use full 1 inch measurements or 1/2 inch or 1 cm ? On your BatReps you also mention other amendments, could I ask what they are ?

Thanks Mike

Decided to use my square bashiing bases, they being 30x30 mm, ok there's only 3 figures to a base, but with the new figures, rifle grenades etc its quite easy to deliniate what base is what
