Had a trip to Scarborough with Leon and wife and grandkids to see the vulcan bomber, very impressed with the display. on the way out we stopped at Boulby cliffs and watched the battle of Britain flight fly over our heads. Stopped off at Whitby on the way home for fish and chips. Great day out.

Good on you! Sounds brilliant! :)
Sounds like an ideal day out.
I have fond memories of fish, chips, bread & butter and cups of tea in Whitby from being taken there when I was a child and from taking my own kids there.
Just unearthed some photos, a week or so ago, of trips with the boys to Eden Camp followed by eats in Whitby.
Very difficult to better Whitby fish and chips, although when I had mine there the fish was so big that technically I think it was a mammal.
Here's a quick video of the Vulcan:

I'm lucky the Vulcan flies low over my house on a big lazy circuit from Cosford airshow, saw it a couple of weeks ago awesome!
Great shots Leon! 8)

My mother said she used to see it flying over regularly in her teens when it was based at Menwith Hill. The howling noise it makes is fantastic.
Nice one...
Home sweet home. Scarborough :x
Many, many years ago i was with the air cadets at Scampton and later Waddington both flew Vulcans at the time. Close up they are not quite so elegant. But when they were doing low level passes down the runway they were spectacular.
"The Bat" is certainly an impressive piece of kit. :)
In the late 1970's I was lucky enough to go to the Battle of Brittain air show at RAF Leuchars and the highlight of the day was a quick readiness scramble by 2 Vulcans. I have just got my hearing back ;D
It was an awesome sight, mind you the one at Scarborough was also very impressive. I had to stop our demo game at the Wartorn show to go outside and stand in awe at such a aircraft in flight :D :D :D

Ah ha! A Lincoln lad. :)
It was either '83 or '84 (memory) when we were fitting chutes on Waddington airfield and around the perimeter were 22-24 Vulcans all parked ready for the scrappy. I'm vague with the exact figure because I counted them 4 or 5 times and kept getting a different number. ;D It was both sad and impressive as I guess this was the whole inventory.
Love the film Leon, that plane never fails to impress. :-[
Cheers, Rob
