SPECIAL DELIVERY! The Churchill Mark VII Tank "Carrickfergus" arrived this morning. The tank, which has been donated by the Trustees of the North Irish Horse Museum and Archive Collection, serves as an icon to acknowledge the combined industrial and military heritage shared by the town of Carrickfergus and the North Irish Horse. Today it will be carefully installed in its new location in Marine Gardens in anticipation of the official unveiling this Saturday at Carrickfergus Armed Forces Day!

Probably go faster if the crew pushed it anyway.
However, I repeat, it's beautiful.
That be a Mk 7 - so not in Tunisia for certain.
Round doors are the giveaway.

The crusader mk III is the most attractive tank of the war, going by appearance rather than what you'd want to be sitting in.
Bit more info on the three tanks being restored, of which Carrickfergus is one.

They confirm ianrs54's assertion that it's a MkVII
Nice comparison pic of a Churchill and a Tiger too.
FK - Yeah, agreed. I love the look of the Crud. And the speed :D
Ithoriel - both look pretty solid, but then you compare the gun tube...
And yet, an identical Churchill knocked the Tiger out, if you read the caption.
Lucky ricochet off the gun & into the turret ring, which jammed - and the crew bailed and ran for it. All the armour in the world won't stop the Golden BB and if your tankers won't keep manning the tank so you can at least drive it to safety...
Or was that just 131 that's now at Bovvy and the Royal Irish kill was a jammed track and a bail out? Was a "lucky hit" job and a panicked crew IIRC! Which kills a tank just as dead as a burning wreck :D
