Title: Metz 1870: At Any Cost!
Post by: mollinary on 24 June 2014, 12:21:51 PM
Anyone who is interested in Boardgames, particularly ones which might be the basis for a wargames campaign, may want to head along to the GMT Games website, and look at their upcoming P500 titles. These are games which are on the stocks, but will only move forward into production once they have 500 pledges to buy.  This new one on Metz, which includes Mars La Tour and Gravelotte St Privat at Brigade level, as well as a campaign system, has over 290 already, and looks very interesting - check it out!

Found it; not hugely impressed by the counters though they are only beta TBF; never heard of the Mancine ravine either; will wait for the map before committing.

A link would be good Mollers.

Oh come on, Cam!  How hard can it be to Google GMT Games P500?

You, Sir, are a Saint!    Still, we should beware of spoon feeding folks, or they will expect it all the time!  ;)

Blimey you're quick off the mark, I've just edited my post; yes I know but a link is so much easier for those of us nearing the end of a twelve hour day, we can't all be gentlemen of leisure  ;D

Does anyone have the Strategy and Tactics FPW board game? I bought it ages ago but never played it, really just wanted the magazine that came with it.

I doubt if the counters will look anything like that in the end. And yes, well spotted, a typo of "Mancine" for "Mance"!   I fear if we wargamers determined our purchases on the basis of picking only those products that don't contain such errors, we would be very, very much richer in financial terms, but largely unsatisfied in Wargaming ones.   :-\

It's in the loft somewhere. The Metz game looks interesting.

Now standing at the mid 320s, with confirmation that the artwork on the sample pieces is nothing like the final artwork will be, simply the illustrations taken off the net to allow the designer to play test the concepts. They intend to commission special artwork for the final product. So come on all you specialists out there, commit!

Really, really want to commit to this but the PO are taking an age to reinstate my credit card after a fraud issue.
