English knights circa 1200AD
There are wall paintings of knights in All Saints Church, Claverley, Shropshire, featuring face-mask visors. (http://warfare2.netai.net/12/Claverley-Wall_painting.htm)
With notes by David Nicolle. Knights being unhorsed. (http://warfare2.netai.net/12/Claverley-Wall_painting-left.htm) Some of the wall-painting is damaged. (http://warfare2.netai.net/12/Claverley-Wall_painting-right.htm)

Does anyone have any more photos of these?

Mark from Timecast is also local and said he would go looking too!
You want to get in touch with the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments:

and get them to dig out their earliest photographic record of the paintings.

Good on you, Matt !

Not often we can have a forum member go out and check D's work! ;)
Just proves how good he is!
Thanks Matt, they will be very useful.
Is the figure on the far left or that on the far right worth photographing?

It's the far right. Yes I see what you mean you can just see the lance sticking out (5th photo down). I didn't even see the lance and start of the figure with the naked eye it looked to be damaged/plastered over, its a partial image.
The pics you have which say the right side is more the centre right.
If you want me to mess with any of the photos (zoom in at any point, increase contrast etc) let me know, the original image files are pretty big.

Have these been uncovered again after being whitewashed during the reformation and beyond or have they always been on view?
