I've been considering painting up a coupld of small Fantasy armies for my 6 year old, and attempting a game with him. Now taking into account that he's a bit young (and likes to cheat) and that I haven't gamed in about 15 years ( :o), are there any really simple rules out there I could try?
If you can find a copy of Hordes of the Things 2.0, they are about as simple as you get with a small army footprint :D

Are they reaaaalllly simple?! As in move, fight, dead, move, fight, dead!

That pretty much describes me playing
any ruleset...nothing to do with complexity ;) :P ;D
Welllll, more like, move, shoot, fight, dead, move, shoot, fight, dead. however there might be some variations on the move part as in - not moving very many element!!! My tendency to roll those Ones for command leave my battlegroup hanging in the wind more often than not :P

Hoardes of the Things are very simple, you roll a dice and thats howmany order pips you get, some units take more pips to order, so you could bring some nice basic math into it.
Also there are no stats, just types, and they are limited anyway.
Id recomend them :)
Is there much difference between the new and old editions? I think we've got a copy of the original one somewhere.
I think 2nd ed clarifys some ambiguitys, and had some nicer examples. It also has a lot more army lists.
