Title: Are the new Zvezda planes out yet?
Post by: GrumpyOldMan on 19 May 2014, 02:29:09 AM
Hi

I see that the Po2 and the Hs 126 have progressed to the point of having photos on the Zvezda websites and been moved to the Art of War list rather than "coming soon":-

Has anybody had any news on whether they've been released or being released shortly?

QuoteEdit:-

Just had a poke around some Japanese sites and two of them mention July release dates, curses, will have to wait longer  :P :P :'( :'(

Edit2

Maybe the tears were premature, both kits found on ebay at this vendor:-

Note the markup from equivalent Zvezda kits  :o

Cheers

I misread the latter plane title as "Hs 129" and my hopes soared, only to be dashed again.  :'( :'( :'(

I fancy some for AVBCW but I've a moratorium on new stuff due to a new baby :) Well, she's now eight months but costs only ever seem to rise...

I'll have to see if that floats with Mrs Pixie. Somehow I suspect not!

Well just treated myself to aforementioned Zvezda kits, plus some Jach DFS-230 gliders and a Minicraft Me-110 :).

Well worth having a good browse as they do post war stuff that is perfect for Korea through to the Falklands:

Have just assembled both of the Zvezda models and they are very nice. The PO-2 is a much simpler build than the HS-126, with the latter being a smidge tricky when assembling the top wing. A little bit of patience and careful pushing of bits together and it's fine. With both I plastic welded them together at the end for added strength. The HS-126 is noticeably larger than the PO-2, but so there are in real life. The only downside is that neither have any crew which is a shame, so I'll need to  butcher some dispatch riders etc for goggle aircrew.

Next up the Bf-110 and DFS-230 gliders :).

Would be heretical to suggest Peter Pig do some 1/144th WW1 pilots for Wings of War ;)
