Nice work

I think on the undead post  it was said that using one base for troop, 2 for regiment and 4 for a horde?

Is that two bases side by side for the regiment, so 12cm wide?

Cheers

For a Regiment it's still 60mm frontage so 2x60x30 back to back to build a 60x60 square, making a Regiment.

Cool blog Luddite! I did find it quite funny that we are both using the troll captain model as out commanders! Mine is clearly a Goblin on some serious mushroids though!;)

Thanks..deep down I thought that was what was meant
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Very nice, KoW and your basing really do get a proper "hordes of the things!" Feel going - both endless undead & goblins - thaaaaasands of 'em!

Righty ho then! That's the painting and basing done, just waiting for flags yo arrive, but even without I'm pretty happy with the way they've turned out!

Hopefully no one will mind of I phot spam the heck out of this post!?!

Pumped up from the ingestion of far too many mushroids, Ragnar Bonecrusha' is by far the largest of all Goblins, and an easy choice as leader because they are all to scared to stand up to him!

Next up is Gobwind, a wizard that is more a danger to himself and his friends than the enemy!

Next are two 'fleabag troops'

Then two Spitter regiments:

Then the bulk of the army on three Sharpsticks Hordes:

The evil giant Hodorn!

A group of smelly rock Trolls:

The heavy support in three rock lobbers:

And if you'll permit me a photo of Ragnar's Roughnecks in all their glory!

Again, sorry for the huge photo spam, hope it's ok Leon!

Looking really good

Still waiting for Luddite's rules to appear *hint hint*

*Really* nice - I love the big unit effect for the Horde bases, especially so with the scenery built onto the base and around the units and with troops clambering all over with pointy sticks everywhere. You can never have too many pointy sticks.

I really like the extra work you've done on the single based leaders - makes them stand out and looks really good. Massive hordes with champions at the front. Also, Ragnar should lay off the mushroids and have a quiet lie down for a bit...

Completed another couple of bits for the Goblin project! This time it's an Army standard bearer and some wound counter bases.

Next up will be the Goblin Mincer (think snotling pump wagon), just waiting on the glue drying!

toxicpixie

I love that standard - *really* cool.

...some wound counter bases...

Those are an interesting idea, I have been thinking about how to keep track of suppressions in ITLSU. Had been thinking about dice frames on one stand of each company but you need to keep track of suppressions this turn and overall. That would need two frames plus 2 figures on a 25x20mm base which would be getting cramped.

Some bases with just 2 frames on which you can put with a company that has suppressions makes sense  :) Leaves the other companies un-cluttered  :-\

Japanese with really big standards often have a couple of assistants holding what are effectively guy ropes to steady the things. Perhaps your goblin would appreciate some help too?
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

FierceKitty

Here's one holding the ropes himself, for some reason. Perhaps the painter can explain the advantages, since he posts here too?

Brilliant film 8). John Mills said it took about 4 takes for the famous drink sequence pictured above, which was filmed in the morning. The rest of the day was a bit of a blur IIRC :D.

BTW the Goblin standard bearer is wonderful 8).

toxicpixie

One of the best films ever made... that and Casablanca must be two of my favourites ever :)

I quite like the idea of separate bases for dice holders. Got to be better than our current "balance a tiny dice somewhere on the base and hope it doesn't roll off" or stick a tiny piece of paper by the unit...
