After having to wait a couple of hours for the rain to stop, yesterday morning, I was able to finally get to the shed so I could spray my newly arrived dungeon black.

It dried fairly quickly as it was now very sunny, British weather  :-\

A couple of heavy dry brushes of dark brown with a fairly large brush took 45 minutes. So I have no idea how Nik did the whole thing in 40 mins.

After a mid brown layer I painted a few bricks/tiles red-brown, some greenish and a few dark yellow. Then I dry brushed / stippled lots of different sandy colours over the top of everything. I think I own too many shades of 'sand' paint. This probably took 2-3 more Harwoods to paint.

I didn't paint anything - just overbrushes & straight to stippling...and I was working as fast as I could, downhill & with the wind behind me  ;)

I like the idea of a 'Harwood' being a unit of time y'know...and so would my dad & his father [both horologists  :)]

It's looking good though - when are you going to bung some dice at it & what will you play?

fred.

It's getting there - might go for a bit more sand as it looks a bit dark this morning.

Need to do the furniture and monsters but have a couple of days off this week so they may get done quite soon.

Probably give the dungeon world rules a whirl - with some randomisation thrown in to determine the layout. My kids might be interested in playing as well.

Painting speed is odd - apart from picking out a few tiles I pretty much went for dry brushing. But even though it was slower than your speed painting it still only took a couple of hours to get the whole dungeon looking good - which really makes this an easy project to get into and to make some real progress with.

Glad you like my new unit of measurement. I think it is a measure of amount painted in a period of time - rather than just a measure if time :-)

Good stuff, the different coloured tiles aren't too overpowering and give a nice effect.

A couple more pics

Some lizard men look at a pool

I have attempted a Gila Monster style paint job on the lizards - not sure it has totally worked?? The water pools are one of those items that look much better painted, in the bare metal they look a bit odd - but with a bit of drybrushing the sculpting really shows through.

What I really like about the Pendraken monsters is that they are really big compared to human sized figures.

Ha ha fred, all hail the Anubis guard ! You should *definitely* take more pictures of them !
And I really love the big monster you painted,

As I just finished the basing of heroes, here is another picture of the heroes against the orcs:

Note the heroes had a better treatment for their bases since.. well.. they are the heroes !

Common guys, post some pictures of your works !
There are so many skilled people here, get in the ring ! ;D
