Hmmm ... Not too enamoured of the AWI, not the colonials. I'm going to ignore Nosher in this case, but I'm quite taken by the Elizabethan idea. I know absolutely nothing about any of it, so would need to do some research.

WWI is also a possible. I'm thinking 1914 or Allenby, but isn't that just following the centenary herd?

How's the Marlburian range?

Lots of horse if I remember correctly

There is fighting in Ireland but stuff in Early America

Irregular Wars who is a member here has written a set of rules for the period which is quite good. He is also about 15 miles from me when he comes to doing a second edition

Here is his blog

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

How about WW1 in Mesopotamia? Brits v. Turks. Not much cavalry (armoured cars if you want them).

Yers. The Brit vs Turks is in my mind as a  friend bought me the Osprey MAA for Xmas.  :-\

I keep looking at doing WW1 in Mesopotamia, then telling myself not to. Zippees pics may have just tipped the balance especially as you appear to be using ITLSU!

If you don't mind me asking, what base sizes did you use?

Last Hussar

Pros - Tricornes.
Cons - High ratio of cavalry- but... TRICORNES!
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Hi Freddy

No problem, yep I play ITSLU - it's a bit dated now (compared to newer TFL rules) but gives a good game once you've worked out what's what  :D

That said my basing is generic enough that although intended for ITSLU, I could use them with almost any other rules (not that there are many to choose form)

Anyway base sizes, this is what I recorded at the time (I always keep a log of bases and paint schemes  8))

Infantry   2 figs                   20mm   x   20mm
MGs           1 team           25mm      Dia
Signals   1 team           25mm      Dia
Btn HQ   2 figs             25mm      Dia
Bde HQ   4 figs                   60mm      Dia
Cavalry   2 figs                   30mm   x   30mm
Rgt HQ   2 figs                   25mm      Dia
Artillery   1 gun           40mm   x   40mm
Limber   1 team           20mm   x   80mm

Vehicles probably 40mm x 60mm as that's pretty standard for me but I didn't make a note of it and it's raining so I'm not walking down to games room to measure  :P
