I managed to get through on the phone today and got ours all sorted out.  The funny thing is that I rang PayPal, but got hold of some third-party call centre, and the guy who fixed our problem freely admitted that they weren't PayPal.  He actually gave us some interesting pointers if we ever get future disputes...  :D  We've only had 4 in the past 5 years though, so it's hardly a regular occurence.

It has to be said, with pendraken's top costumor service, i wouldn't expect many more!

3 of them were simply packages delayed in the post, and the last one was a banking error on the customers side!

Trying to talk to someone at paypal to sort out problems is usually a frustrating experience. I had to scour the net to find a number that turned out to be useful. They intentionally don't put it on the website! If you should owe them money though....

A couple of years ago Paypal made a mistake and sent money that wasn't mine to my account. Neither of us noticed for 6 months, I spent the money in dribs and drabs, not paying close enough attention to the balance. They eventually realise the mistake and email me. So I email them back saying I'll look into it and that they are probably right. They phone me at 8 am the next morning (which was the day after boxing day) and are pretty threatening, and they do it again several more times until I get it paid back. There's no question, the money had to be repaid, but they were seriously unpleasant about it, and it made my life difficult for quite a while. As a consequence I consider them an enemy (on my Richard Nixon-style list) and will happily jump ship if a serious alternative comes along. I know I am too small to ever  hurt them back, but if I somehow  get to be declared world dictator, make sure you aren't working for paypal on inauguration day.

I've written to Adam at the no agenda show about it - and the paint ban.

Maybe if they smack them in the mouth it will do some good.

You can - it is an offense under the various telecommunications act. There is also an offence of "Harassing a Debtor" - 3 calls in one day and you got em under UK law. If they continue to ring when you have said written comms only you can get them again.
